"I’d be expecting more important things such as those relating to safety and not someone’s wallet"

Great point BlackpoolScott

You arrive at your destination, get out of the cab when a passenger, sorry customer, sorry stakeholder tells you that they’ve lost their wallet on the train, what do you do ?

Sorry mate I’m jus the driver, as the guard isn’t going to cut it anymore - your not JUST a driver your a front line representative of the company. First Groups Open Access driver roles named are much like this.
Driving the train these is your core role, but as soon as you step out of the cab your a customer focused service rep of the company.

Hgv driver ..both short and long distance.
Bit couldn’t use that experience to make it train driver relevant to the questions.

You couldn’t relate anything from being a HGV driver to being a train driver?
Like adhering to traffic law? Being under pressure to deliver on time without breaking said traffic laws? Ever been held up in traffic and had to change plans?....
You failed your interview right?
And as for the Stakeholder thing, it’s a perfectly reasonable question. Would Network rail not be a Stakeholder that could be affected by your performance?

Quite. Maybe the OP didn't understand or got confused and is thinking of Shareholders.

That makes more sense.

Half of my cover letter was how HGV driving relates to train driving because they’re so similar. EU driving laws & tacho infringements are certainly a big part of it. Maybe he meant there were some questions he couldn’t use those experiences to answer, such as a past emergency situation. I wouldn’t use my driving career to answer that one.

Ask most current train drivers about 'stakeholders' and they'd laugh. Modern management speak with no real purpose.
Ive done interviews in the fire service and had questions regarding stakeholders, the way it's understood here is a stakeholder is anyone affected by the job so your train driver stakeholders are would be passengers, guards, other drivers, mechanics, dispatch, ect

I received an email the day after applying saying that they would inform me 2-4weeks after the closing date.

I haven’t received anything either. I applied on the day of the deadline so maybe they’re being sent out a certain length of time after the application was submitted?

My second email arrived precisely 26 days after I applied. Perhaps you can gauge off others if it’s just when they look at your application, or a pre-determined time. Im not sure.

I applied 2 weeks before the deadline and only received the first acknowledgment email about the 2-4 weeks. Fingers crossed we’ll hear off them in a few weeks. Anyone hoping for the Plymouth Position?

I'm assuming they're doing them in batches, there doesn't seem to be a pattern so could also be a delay of emails being processed by the system

Take any estimate of a reply date with a pinch of salt. It can and often does take much, much longer than that, even if others are getting replies from the same TOC. There’s often no method to it.

With the start dates, I applied for a XC TM position last year that they advertised a start date in June and they didn’t get the ball rolling until August. So I wouldn’t go by the dates on the application form as with the current situation they are obviously not set in stone.

Is there a thread for apprentice driver for the East Midlands Railway intake that’s recently been up? I can’t find one but thought maybe people on this thread may have applied? If there’s one already up that I’ve missed, I’d appreciate the link please.
