I heard on Facebook that Lothian Country are apparently getting 5 B5TL Enviro400 MMC's, does anyone know if this is true or just a rumour?
Rumour. Also is this coming from the same person that also posted that the 4 incoming BYD electric E400’s were due for LCB too??I heard on Facebook that Lothian Country are apparently getting 5 B5TL Enviro400 MMC's, does anyone know if this is true or just a rumour?
I'm unsure, like I said it's from what I heard.Rumour. Also is this coming from the same person that also posted that the 4 incoming BYD electric E400’s were due for LCB too??

For Lothian City however - not country.Bus Lists on the Web lists one as fleet no 291

Give the newsworthy and new products to a lower performing subsidiary miles away from full engineering without full testing etc? Not a chance.
They may visit, but it's not permanent at this time. The hope is that electric won't be the future, but rather synthetic fuels.

Perhaps there should be a rule implemented that unsubstantiated claims without any attribution or origin of source shouldn't be posted. These outlandish claims are getting a bit ridiculous now.
Agreed, if there’s a valid and trustworthy source for me that should preferably be quoted as well otherwise I could easily just say that 50 XLB’s are due and that then becomes a rumour? Just to be clear that is made up.Perhaps there should be a rule implemented that unsubstantiated claims without any attribution or origin of source shouldn't be posted. These outlandish claims are getting a bit ridiculous now.
Said person isn't the most reliable of sources. They said a while back FSE were getting 19 new E200MMCs...
I would disagree on the basis that it could end up just preventing good discussion. The best way to deal with outlandish claims is to disprove them.
Most likely getting prepared for Service Changes next week.See 171-175 are at marine and seafield are they getting ready for service or getting withdrawn?
The rumours are getting out of hand.Apparently bound for LothianCountry but that could be a rumour![]()
I just noticed the N124 is returning but the N106 hasn’t yet. Not even a part route run to Haddington? Are the runs on the X7/104 that low?
Yes, the claims about 1029 returning to service after its decapitation at Fauldhouse and the constant claims about the 276 actually being the X17 in disguise both spring to mind here. Both of which have turned out to be a load of mince.I would disagree on the basis that it could end up just preventing good discussion. The best way to deal with outlandish claims is to disprove them.
Not any I've seen - they both carry a decent load usually. The demand maybe just isn't there at night yet though.I just noticed the N124 is returning but the N106 hasn’t yet. Not even a part route run to Haddington? Are the runs on the X7/104 that low?
Well 172/3 are currently at Livingston……The rumours are getting out of hand.
Or they could just be getting stored at Livingston!Well 172/3 are currently at Livingston……
There’s no space to store buses in Livingston…..Or they could just be getting stored at Livingston!![]()
Maybe that answers the question of are they going back into service.Well 172/3 are currently at Livingston……
Hopefully they all get transferred to Livingston, they're great buses.Maybe that answers the question of are they going back into service.
Ahh - £3.20 day tickets! Those were the days. With withdrawals of the B9s now well underway, here's a reminder of the first one to go - the ill-fated 390. The circumstances regarding its fiery demise at the hands of a vandal after just 29 months in service have been well documented on here.
I took this photo at the end of July 2011, when 390 was just a few weeks old - little did I realise how significant it would turn out to be just under two-and-a-half years later!
If the £1m went solely on these 6 buses just to be gathering dust at the depot then that is a scandalous waste of hard earned public money. Was due diligence not done on this before the order was made? There are public services crying out for a million pounds worth of investment.Scottish Green Bus Fund 7 Grant Awards
