All Bachmanns come with close coupling sets, but I'll wait for the sets to become stable before creating fixed rakes close coupled. Are the NSE ones close coupled?
A bit warm in the loft tonight!

Off eBay so not my handy work! Those loads look very good, good job
All very nice! The loads in those wagons look good.My Western approach has developed with another point added and the down suburban connected

Also added some loads to my stone wagons too

They look a lot better and with the weights removed from the underside and dropped in the top, these loads hold them in place too..
Again - all sounds very nice indeed! The amount of track involved is really cool. No excuse for a boring operating session! So a track update.
The suburban lines are now completed on the up side, with new crossover points, track & insulators. A new link is also in place to the up relief.
Up relief trains are now being diverted via the suburban platforms 1/2 whilst P3/4 are severed from the up relief.

First across was an up service hauled by a Class 52 D1026 WESTERN CENTURION, hauling a 9 car semi fast service formed of Mk2a coaching stock.

Track laying should continue tomorrow on the up relief, but then will stop pending the delivery of more new points.
Thanks Peter,I'm finding it progressively more and more difficult to find ways of saying how interesting it is to watch your layout develop @reddragon! I'd be a dreadful contestant on Just a Minute...
The work you're doing sounds a lot like some of the work that's been going on with the real railway in recent years - Reading station was developed quite significantly a few years ago, and King's Cross has seen some very similar re-working to your layout in the sense that it provides straighter, and therefore faster, exits from the station.

Thanks Peter,
Isn't it great to treat you model railway just like a real railway even for Engineering works?
Definitely!Thanks Peter,

I have a line restriction on the down main for southern units as their pick up shoes clash with an old Peco power clip - I put some card each side to limit damageDefinitely!
I've even seen some model railways with real route restrictions, where the architecture around the track prevents certain models passing down certain lines - that's a bit too realistic for my layout though...
-Peter
Funnily enough, I think it was a third-rail route I saw online that had a route restriction somewhere. This is the sort of thing where Hornby set-track is easier to deal with as it all seems to come together and things don't clash (except for the hundred times when it doesn't work).I have a line restriction on the down main for southern units as their pick up shoes clash with an old Peco power clip - I put some card each side to limit damage

This will be lifted when the line is upgraded.
Lima models do seem to be built like tanks. All of my Lima models are second-hand (obviously, I've not got a time machine) and they still work really well. I might look into getting a Lima 60 - purely because they should be a lot cheaper than the new Hornby ones...!My 59201 and 60050 2nd, with Loadhaul sticker are off to their new railways. Well I couldn't have 2x 60050 could I?
Lima 59/60's are outstanding models, well well worth buying.
#####
I'll take a look at those. I've been looking for a Lima 92.Lima 37715 & 92001 and a Mainline BSK are now listed
That is very nice indeed! That just screams 'Modernisation Plan' for me. The non-standard design (I think?), and the non-standard livery are brilliant. Is the name for the viaduct new? I must admit I did laugh a bit when I read it - apologies if it was supposed to be serious!Monday
Recently arrived on the railway Class 53 no. D0280 crosses fArten Gill viaduct on a driver training run.

Lima 92s are an absolute bargain at the Mo, loads online. If mine doesn't sell I'll DCC and keep it.Lima models do seem to be built like tanks. A cross between a Western and 47, very popular loco in its day.Wow I love that model of Falcon. I reckon that must have been a very impressive machine in real life.

All very nice. That LNER 'Teak' in BR Blue is certainly an interesting model!Today 37.715 departed for its new railway at a bargain price and did the RR HST 43005+42250+43016 at a good price.
My Buffets cars also returned too!
W1644 joined the Mainline rake (the rest of the coaches need renumbering too)

All sounds very nice - love the addition of the engineering possessionA large delivery of S&C is due this week to complete the up approach, with spares. LH / RH long, Y long, DS and a curved. Possession booked this weekend on the up main; the down main and the down relief in succession.
Thanks to bargain Peco track on Rails eBay site. Better than Hattons 2nd hand too!
