I suspect it’s serving Holyrood again as per the timetable. Possibly via old Service 6 route via Jeffrey St and Holyrood Park. Hopefully they can confirm it soon.
That would be very interesting, however there is a lack of bus stop at the Parliament when the 6 finally got scrapped years ago, but at the very least maybe a temporary diversion would be a perfect opportunity to see if the area could do with another try for a bus service

35 more likely to go Potterrow > Nicholson Sq > West Richmond St and then down Pleasance and onto Holyrood Road and round by the Parliament that way I'd have thought.
Does anyone know what the southbound stops on North Bridge are going to be like once it reopens?
I.e. are the likes of the 3 and the 5 going to be stopping?

I would imagine the southbound stopping pattern will stay as is. NC being outside the Hilton, ND and NE remaining closed.
I think 3 out of the 4 lanes are going to be closed from the start of this diversion. With only the one southbound lane (what would normally be the southbound bus lane) being open.

Isnt that the way most of the tour buses are going atm? either way no matter what the diversion I’m sure it’ll make for a fun little experiment for the residents if the bus stops along the diversion routes.
However a part of me thinks they’ll have the 35 run along to Hanover Street, St Andrew Square then Regent Road, but that’s ridiculous thinking

The new timetable mentions Holyrood, something the current one doesn’t. I think it will return to doing its normal route via Abbeymount and Abbeyhill. From there it will need to serve Horse Wynd, Holyrood Park and Holyrood Road. From there? Anyone’s guess…
To be clear I think it will serve Holyrood in both directions hence why I’ve listed it in the Heriot-Watt direction.
Can you turn right from Candlemaker Row onto the Cowgate? That could be an option.
EDIT:
Totally forgot that the Canongate is still open (for now), makes sense to go back to serving that again.
The city centre diversions due to North bridge are going to cause me know end of headaches. And as for the death of a thousand cuts service reductions, whilst I have sympathy for the issues they are facing these are not going to make bus travel attractive karma particularly to those who are concerned about overcrowding on quite a few roots.
I doubt its death of a thousand cuts service reductions, its more like as been mentioned, there isn't enough spare drivers to allow for a major increase in PVR which would will be needed due to the increase journey times?
What would have helped, is if the council HAD introduced the bus gates at bank street thus making the mound buses only. They seem to be dragging the knuckles on that.

In recent months when North Bridge has been shut overnight and everything went via the mound in the evening/late night it has been an absolute nightmare. I absolutely dread to think what it's going to be like for the next few months.

I don't keep up to date on the night-only diversions, is the traffic diverted in both directions in a loop which crosses over itself? If so then the upcoming diversion might not be too bad since the northbound and southbound traffic flows don't join or cross each other.

Why are they closing North Bridge when they already have so many other roadworks going on. Leith Walk is still closed. Due to open in January if the 18 months is correct which they quoted but I can’t see that happening. No wonder drivers are stressed.

Not to mention the over-running roadworks on Lothian Road, East Fountainbridge etc etc. I honestly think someone ordered a million or two extra traffic cones and they've got nowhere to store them, as sometimes roadworks/temp lights are set up - nothing happens - then they are take away!

The roadworks are switching from Southbound lane to Northbound, but this time learning from the carnage of running bus traffic both ways over North Bridge, Southbound buses will use North Bridge, but Northbound buses are diverted via Chamber St., George IV Bridge and Mound.
Any word on bus diversions in Niddrie tonight? From what ive seen on social media the Niddrie young team seem to have been shooting fireworks at vehicles this evening although there now appears to be 6 police vans and lots of officers with riot shields etc… in attendance

Apparently they're only leaving the one lane open on the whole bridge though, so Lothian don't really have any other option than to run northbound via the Mound.

I'm just trying to think of the route they might do so I can add it to my map.
The best option I can see is Forrest Road > Chambers Street > turn right then left to get to Drummond Street > turn right onto Roxburgh Place > turn left onto West Adam Street then East Adam Street, left onto Pleasance all the way down to Holyrood Road then Holyrood Gait, Queen's Drive, Horse Wynd, then back to normal route so Abbeyhill > Easter Road.
The only alternative I would consider "reasonable" would be Forrest Road > George IV Bridge > turn left then right onto Market Street > Jeffrey Street, then back to normal route so Canongate > Abbeyhill > Easter Road.
Google says Forrest Road to Easter Road (foot) via the first routing takes 14 minutes without traffic and the second routing takes 13 minutes without traffic; the timetable allows 19 minutes between Forrest Road and Easter Road (foot) so I guess either of those could be options.
The second routing keeps more to the original route of the 35, however if this route was possible/practical then I don't see why they haven't used it during the current closure of the High Street (at junction with South Bridge) instead of going all the way round Bridges > Waterloo Place > Regent Road.
I only vaguely remember this bus, was never on it but was certainly something different.
If I remember correctly the 37A was withdrawn and replaced with the 47 in 2005/06. At the same time the X37 became the X47, and the X47 that ran Penicuik to Edinburgh Park was withdrawn. Dates etc could be a wee bit off.

I think there was only 2 of these ever at Lothian Buses and if memory serves me right, this was sold and converted into a open-top bus then subsequently sold to another company where it re-recieved a roof.
I couldn't tell you much on that I have to admit as I cant remember a lot from that period time with the buses, however I do think around then they were trying to break away from letters in their service number e.g. A (exept X and N service letter) which is odd now that they have a 47B.

I seriously doubt the back roads around Drummond St/the Adam Sts are suitable for this - I definitely agree with the other posters suggesting a slightly longer, but simpler route via W Richmond St.

the only thing also is that the pleasance also has ununsed bus stops along the route from the former 60 service, which would come in handy for locals there
