Looking at www.realtimes.co.uk it appears that this week there hasant been any Calder valley 153s out at all. From the remainder of the Northern lot still in service 153 331/332/363 are now stored out of use.
You're welcome.
Weather looking nice again.
Much better than the Midlands has been.
Same for me nice and quiet as well.
Sad to see these go. Another piece off history to sadly end. No more 153s running in passenger service like these pairs. Another end off a piece off a era.
However would also be handy to know which pair off 153s on this line will have a claim to fame off having worked the last ever non prm service in great Britain to have ever worked. A true end and a final tribute to 153s on branch lines.
Worked this way.

Iff this is the case. It doesn't surprise me at all iff they all have been withdrawn out off service early. End off November just like the Pacers. Last year
It does clearly ring a bell that this time last year when the Pacers ended two weeks early it was also announced that the 153s would remain for a year.
However have the 153s ended on northern rail early on the Calder valley route?.
other interesting thing will be in a few years when the tfw prm compliant units finish to see which will be the last units workingYou're welcome.

Theoretically another couple of weeks use until the timetable change is possible, but I think they're pretty much gone nowI believe 153s with Northern are finished now with the Wigan NW - Leeds work unit diagrams being changed, that and the arrival of more 156s from EMR next week.
If of interest to anyone, 1533363, 153332 and 153331 were parked up in Huddersfield all day on the 25th. Don't know if they're still there as I'm snowed in. I wish they'd put them on the Penistone line, 2 car 150 with no tables is no fun for well over an hour's journey and they're getting full even outside rush hour.
Haven't ran in the last week its believed as the song goes what's the story morning glory.Theoretically another couple of weeks use until the timetable change is possible, but I think they're pretty much gone now
Don't forget the ScotRail cycle conversions are still running on the Oban line....and I believe that they aren't going to start charging the premium 'Highland Explorer' fares until next January.A true end and a final tribute to 153s on branch lines.
and tfw will still be operating a fair few with prm and prm lite modsDon't forget the ScotRail cycle conversions are still running on the Oban line....and I believe that they aren't going to start charging the premium 'Highland Explorer' fares until next January.
Running as normal to Saturday 11th December 2021.Anyone got an informed view as to whether 153s will be on Barton Branch on Saturday (EMR units)? And subject to unforeseen breakdowns will they run all services on the branch that day or just selected services?
ThanksRunning as normal to Saturday 11th December 2021.
When the transpennie Express contract ends at cleethorpes Depot.
Today the units are 153355 & 153357. Thanks. And presumably back to Barton in the morning to work the services on saturday?Today the units are 153355 & 153357. Diagrammed to work Empty Coaching Stock (ECS) to Lincoln this evening for stabling.

In theory, but I'll update the situation tomorrow morning.Thanks. And presumably back to Barton in the morning to work the services on saturday?
Thanks! Strikes (now cancelled it seems) see em to have created probs with train planning on other parts of EMR network - will cause problems ref Lincoln Xmas market I suspect. In theory, but I'll update the situation tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the update - so I found out - as got there for a morning one which flashed up cancelled as I was in queue to buy a ticket at Cleethorpes. Got the 12.54 instead (was going to do 2 round trips but plans amended accordingly!) - anyway all worked out OK in the end and services not busy - probably at least in part due to earlier cancellations.Saturday 04/12/21
153355 / 153357 working the Barton - Cleethorpes service today. The only change, this morning, was the first round trip was cancelled due to a shortage of TPE guards. The next service has operated to Barton, but subsequent trips may be subject to disruption. Seemingly some confusion between EMR and TPE about the changeover of staffing.
379/384 going to Long Marston Wednesday 15th whilst the other 4 that EMR have, are going to Ely Tuesday 21st.

Interestingly the gaurd requested passengers only be in one unit of the 2 at least on my return journey. I wasn't sure why this would be - after all a bit of a waste of diesel shuttling 2 if people are all sat in one - could have run it in trad single car style! With no announcements and no screen info it was all pretty pre DDA too....
But of course I enjoyed the trip.
Hi! I didn't see these at Eastcroft this morning so I'll get you an answer tomorrow. It wouldn't surprise me if they were at Etches Park already though.Hi Mariner16, do you know where they are now, pre move? Many thanks
In short, it depends on who owns them. If it's an Angel owned unit, it will go to Ely Papworth. If it's a Porterbrook unit, Long Marston. Unfortunately UKRail log (born from the ashes of the late and great AB Rail) doesn't include the Lessor. Will the northern 153s be on the move to storage very soon at Ely Papworth or long marston please.
Thank you.
