It would be interesting to know what the correlation is between revenue lost and wages saved!

I haven't seen anything in writing so I can only take it as pure speculation at this point but if the bus stop gossip is true (it usually is), significant changes for some routes do seem to be coming on 2nd October, not just Stagecoach either.I gather there are lots of timetable changes to Stagecoach bus services in Derbyshire from the first week in October, does anyone know what the changes are…?
trentbarton have theirs published already. Not sure what other operators have planned changes but it’s expected with the current funding situationI haven't seen anything in writing so I can only take it as pure speculation at this point but if the bus stop gossip is true (it usually is), significant changes for some routes do seem to be coming on 2nd October, not just Stagecoach either.
SERVICE CHANGES FROM SUNDAY 2 OCTOBER 2022:
48/49 - These services will be operated by Hulleys of Baslow with very minor time changes in the afternoon. Buses that currently serve Morrisons in Brampton will be extended to serve Old Road and Old Brampton before terminating at Wigley, replacing Service 170.
55/56 - These services will all serve Tibshelf, but will operate direct into Morton village, not via Pewit Lane. In North Wingfield buses will additionally serve The Gate Inn. To improve reliability there will be minor changes to timings, buses running up to 10 minutes later than at present. All buses will show number 55.
63 - Revised timetable to improve reliability.
78 - This service will no longer be operated by Hulleys.
84 - This service will be replaced by Service 170, which will operate via Chatsworth Road and Holymoorside to Baslow and Bakewell. Hulleys will also operate the Sunday service. Evening and Sunday buses will run as Service 170.
110/111 - Unchanged.
170/X70 - Minor changes to timings. Service 170 will run via Chatsworth Road and Holymoorside instead of Old Road and Old Brampton, although buses to and from Lady Manners School will be unchanged. During the rest of the day, Old Road and Old Brampton will be served by Service 48. The Sunday X70 service will be replaced by Service 170, hourly from Chesterfield to Holymoorside and two hourly through to Bakewell.
171 - New timetable including an extra bus at 0930 from Youlgrave to Bakewell following customer requests.
172 - This service will no longer run through to/from Chesterfield, to improve reliability.
173 - Unchanged.
178 - Withdrawn due to very poor usage. Please note that Shutts Lane is served hourly by Service 170.
256/257/258 - All buses will run as Service 257, and on Monday to Saturday buses will run hourly from Sheffield to Bakewell. On Sundays buses will run between Sheffield and Bamford Station, with some journeys additionally serving Fairholmes Visitor Centre.
271/272 - Changes to times at morning and afternoon peak to improve reliability. The 1120 from Sheffield to Castleton and 1220 from Castleton to Sheffield will be replaced by journeys at 1050 & 1150 from Sheffield to Castleton and 1150 & 1250 from Castleton to Sheffield.
M17 - This service will no longer be operated by Hulleys.
New timetables will be published shortly.

Seems that trentbarton have not quite published everything. Looks like the royal derby is to transfer to Notts and Derby from the 2nd of October. The route page on the website already has 'operated by Notts+Derby' on it. This might help Derby some more as the mickleover managed to have a red solo on yesterday morning even though it has 8 branded buses for a PVR of 6 now.trentbarton have theirs published already. That same page also still says 'every 12 minutes' when the timetable remains every 20 mins and the loop around the Royal Derby hospital isn't running. Perhaps the move to Notts & Derby will see the timetable back to normal, although I hope they still accept Mango and are part of the lower daily cap (unlike Skylink Derby).Seems that trentbarton have not quite published everything. Aren't some of the displaced E200mmcs meant to be going onto Skylink Express to replace the elderly solars? This might help Derby some more as the mickleover managed to have a red solo on yesterday morning even though it has 8 branded buses for a PVR of 6 now.
I believe Skylink Express is getting some B7RLEsAren't some of the displaced E200mmcs meant to be going onto Skylink Express to replace the elderly solars?
They'll be a spare E200MMC off the Allestree available as well with the frequency reduction.Aren't some of the displaced E200mmcs meant to be going onto Skylink Express to replace the elderly solars?
The 27 seems to be accepting mango. Personally, I can see it continuing every 20 mins but it would be good to see it go back to every 12.That same page also still says 'every 12 minutes' when the timetable remains every 20 mins and the loop around the Royal Derby hospital isn't running. I think it was said that 107, 108, 109 could be going to the skylink and 269 becomes a spare to replace 109. The vehicle situation is not good at Derby at the moment for some reason with journeys missing at times due to no spare buses not drivers. They'll be a spare E200MMC off the Allestree available as well with the frequency reduction.
It’s good news that the Broad Marsh bus station is going to be used at last after the money that has been spent on building it. Whether it’s good news for the bus users of Nottingham depends upon the journeys you regularly make. The Victoria Bus Station and the Broad Marsh Bus Station are quite some distance apart and I have actually quite appreciated only having to walk as far as Friar Lane when making journeys from north of the city to destinations on other sides of the city. The current Victoria Bus Station is quite small and is very inconveniently situated for onward connections. Some good news for bus uses in Nottingham. Trentbarton will be returning to Broadmarsh bus station on the 2nd October after an absence if five years.
No news yet on weather the pigeons may also want to come back.
Quite a few changes on there. The Arriva 2/2A/2B/2C changes seems to me going back towards the 60/61 days. No mention of the two, rainbow one, H1 and royal Derby changing on the trentbarton website with just over a week to go.2nd October Service Changes on the Derbyshire Council website now

It's entirely possible now Diamond have a depot at Burton following the recent takeover of Midland Classic.Diamond operating the 9 and 9A is Derby seems bizarre. Is this a mistake do you think?
The H1 is mentioned in the October changes: www.trentbarton.co.uk/news-and-media/travel-updates/article/servicechanges2OctQuite a few changes on there. H1 | Extra evening journeys on Sundays.
Burton is only about 12 miles away, still some dead milesIt's entirely possible now Diamond have a depot at Burton following the recent takeover of Midland Classic.
Yes, some dead mileage but it gives Diamond a foot hold in Derby which could be very useful for future opportunities!Burton is only about 12 miles away, still some dead miles
Is the access to Broadmarsh bus station from the rest of the city centre still via a temporary boarded tunnel, or have they sorted that now?
IIRC Intu were planning on refurbishing up the Broadmarsh shopping centre and the council decided to do the bus station at around the same time.So what's the deal with Broadmarsh bus station then? They've replaced a bus station and multi-storey car park with... a bus station and a multi-storey car park! Surely it would have been much cheaper to put some fancy vertical slats on the old one, or were there structural issues?
There's also a library (not open yet) and more retail units around the outside. I'm not sure if there were structural issues, but it was also part of the Broadmarsh redevelopment (shopping centre & all surrounding streets as far as the train station)So what's the deal with Broadmarsh bus station then? IIRC the original intent was to refurbish the existing, but when they did the final surveys they found structural issues and it cheaper to demolish and rebuild, and also had the benefit of moving the car park access from Middle Hill (it was planned to move them round but in the same corner as the Collin Street entrance used to be) to Canal Street - and space to accommodate the Central Library which was also in-need of a major refit. So what's the deal with Broadmarsh bus station then? NCT's frequent "City Loop" buses will take you as far as the south end of Victoria Centre. It's a shame on or more of the Mansfield Road routes don't go round the loop to provide a connection to Broad Marsh and nearly to the railway station, but NCT doesn't have a remit to help out the other operators that use the bus stations. In an earlier post I commented upon the distance between the Broad Marsh and Victoria Bus Stations in Nottingham. No wonder I always find it quite a walk especially uphill from the Broad Marsh to the Victoria Bus Station. If Google is correct, shortest walking distance between the two bus stations is almost 1 mile at 0.9 mile. I knew it was quite a walk but hadn’t realised it was as far as that. Yes I will miss the shorter distance from Friar Lane.
