From ROG's FB page.
Looks like we finally have clear confirmation that it is an initial batch of ten 93s.Rail Operations Group's new Class 93 tri-mode locomotive has begun testing in Spain.
The milestone was reached when 93001 began being tested at Stadler's test facility in Valencia, Spain.
93001 is part of an initial 10 locomotives that will be used across the UK rail network by Rail Operations Group.
ROG says that the locomotives will reduce CO2 emissions for both freight and potential passenger services.

I was wondering the same when reading that article although the wording seems odd, it say it's begun testing in Spain but then the next sentence it's reached the milestone that it's begun testing in Spain - is the 'milestone' that it's started testing a strange way to word it.If both the date of the article and the words "has begun testing" are true then I can't seriously believe there's one about to appear in the UK
They look good. Are they replacing the 37s?
Should check out the latest Rail Express article. All the details are in there! They look good. Are they replacing the 37s?
Shame you missed the design sign off then.Looks horrible.
I must admit that is a nice livery, very simple. It has a hint of two tone green about it which I saw the tail end of in my youth. Fingers crossed there will be no yellow ends.
The rendering Stadler issued at the beginning of 2021 (in post #15) suggests, thankfully, no yellow, but we could still be disappointed yetI must admit that is a nice livery, very simple. It's yet another livery which can only be applied by means of wrapping because of the complex printing.I must admit that is a nice livery, very simple. It has a hint of two tone green about it which I saw the tail end of in my youth. Fingers crossed there will be no yellow ends.
You could have the base green as a proper paint and then use a transparent vinyl over the top for the design. It's yet another livery which can only be applied by means of wrapping because of the complex printing.
What is wrong with just plain colour liveries that can be applied by paint systems that have a decent level of durability and repairability.
Oh wait yes, everyone needs their marketing to have shinyness nowerdays.
Are there any indications of when it will arrive?Reported on WNXX this morning that the UK arrival of 93001 has been delayed and is to be re-scheduled

Rail Advent just harvests items from elsewhere, usually press releases. Not yet, I'd always thought that Rail Advent were pretty much on the ball with their reporting, obviously the info in the link in post #452 must have been pretty much out of date if 93001 is on the verge of being delivered to the UK
The ship rumoured to be carrying it (Vega Leader) was due to arrive in Portbury on April 11th but got held up by the recent storms - according to https://www.marinetraffic.com it's arriving there around now, but yet to be seen whether the 93's actually in the hold. Not yet, I'd always thought that Rail Advent were pretty much on the ball with their reporting, obviously the info in the link in post #452 must have been pretty much out of date if 93001 is on the verge of being delivered to the UK
It’s there now, no idea whether 93001 is in it.The ship rumoured to be carrying it (Vega Leader) was due to arrive in Portbury on April 11th but got held up by the recent storms - according to https://www.marinetraffic.com it's arriving there around now, but yet to be seen whether the 93's actually in the hold.
So there are yellow panels, I like that.Just received this picture - thought I'd put it here (apologies for low res) View attachment 133431
Actually agree for this colour scheme. I've tended towards the non-yellow liveries in the past but this complements the side green really nicely honestlySo there are yellow panels, I like that.
All that spaghetti and yet no vacuum brake or steam heat!I do wonder how reliable all that exposed connection gubbins will be, after a long winter?

Partly because it's got at least 3 separate coupling systems to manage. All that spaghetti and yet no vacuum brake or steam heat!
It does look very cluttered and untidy.
It's got a design aesthetic very similar to the Class 60.Just received this picture - thought I'd put it here (apologies for low res) View attachment 133431
No one thought about nicknaming them 'Prawns'? All of that associated piping gives them a district 9 alien look.Just received this picture - thought I'd put it here (apologies for low res) View attachment 133431
Zoidberg or Oods also in the runningNo one thought about nicknaming them 'Prawns'? All of that associated piping gives them a district 9 alien look.
When the Dellner is down I bet they look a lot nester. No one thought about nicknaming them 'Prawns'? All of that associated piping gives them a district 9 alien look.
