So they should be waiting. It's a timetabled service. The tolerance is no more than 2 min early departing a timing point. Outside London the rule is 1 min.

Now, whether the schedule is too slack in places is another matter, but the route is notoriously difficult to schedule accurately.
TfL's timetable says it should take 1h 41m on a Saturday afternoon. It doesn't, it takes 2 hours, some of which is spent sat at bus stops killing time. So frustrating.

The SL8 is similarly crippled, but by TfL's stupid 20mph limit on major A roads. The service crawls along clear empty roads at a snail's pace.

Here:

Which is blatantly incorrect.
I'd probably agree it's misleading, but it does say "off -peak". Confusingly that doesn't have the same meaning as it does for tube fares. That's the timing for evenings and Sundays, usually. Unfortunately, they're the times they give whenever you're looking up.

If you use the journey planner, that'll tell you it takes 2 hours

Given that it says it's the running time between 12:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays, it's clearly incorrect.

"Typical off-peak journey time in minutes" as displayed on stop specific timetables is meant to be based on the first journey after 10:00 Mon-Fri. As mentioned earlier in this thread the new SSTTs are incorrectly showing late evening running times, and based on the SL7 it looks like this is also the case on the website.

It doesn't say that. It gives an off-peak running time of 101 minutes whatever time or day of the week you ask for a timetable of.

It displays the timetable then says "Please select a time period to view off-peak journey times in minutes".

It seems odd that it asks you to choose a time period given it's told you it's going to tell you the off-peak journey time anyway, but that's what it does.

And how many people are going to spot that subtle difference??? In any case as already pointed out it's wrong anyway.

Ironically, they could probably make 110 minutes on a Saturday afternoon if they quit the dithering!

SL1 and SL10 to begin soon
Isn’t the SL1 to be operated on the 34 contract and SL10 on the 183 contract at first?
  • Routes SL1 and SL10 will be introduced later this year
  • SL10 will run between Harrow and North Finchley and SL1 will run between North Finchley and Walthamstow, with a passage through Chingford introduced following views submitted to the public consultation
  • The Superloop is a key part of the Mayor’s commitment to improving the bus network in outer London adding over 4 million extra bus kilometres of bus services
  • These new routes will provide quicker journeys between transport hubs, town centres, hospitals and schools – and consultation responses overwhelmingly indicate they will provide genuine alternatives to private car use
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that it will be pressing ahead with plans to introduce two brand new express bus routes to the Superloop network, following a public consultation and the publication of reports into the consultations. The two new faster bus services - the SL1 and SL10 - will connect Harrow and North Finchley, and North Finchley and Walthamstow and will be the next Superloop routes to be added to the network, with plans to start services on the two routes later this year. The feedback from the SL10 consultation showed that 73 per cent of respondents said they would be likely to use this service to replace a journey made by private car.
Earlier this year, the Mayor announced plans for the Superloop, a transformative network of express bus services to enhance public transport provision in outer London and maximise the benefits of the London-wide ULEZ expansion, which came into effect on 29 August. The first Superloop bus was launched in July and there are currently four Superloop services in operation, with the Mayor confirming that the loop will be complete by spring 2024, subject to consultation. This excludes route SL4, which will start when the Silvertown tunnel opens in 2025.
The SL1 will run alongside part of the existing route 221 between North Finchley and New Southgate, and part of route 34 between Arnos Grove and Walthamstow. SL1 will run every 12 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 minutes during evenings and Sundays. The route will allow customers using the new SL1 service to connect with nearly 50 bus routes across north and northeast London, offering quicker journeys and more transport options for people moving between transport hubs and town centre locations in Finchley, New Southgate and Walthamstow, as well as serving sections of the North Circular Road (A406). There will be connections to rail services at New Southgate, Arnos Grove, Silver Street and Walthamstow Central.
Feedback from the SL1 consultation was positive, with 79 per cent of people who responded saying that a new express bus service between North Finchley and Walthamstow would make their journey more convenient. 76 per cent said they thought the proposals would make their journey quicker and 71 per cent said they would be likely to use the express bus service to replace a journey made by private car. Following feedback received in the public consultation, the SL1 will now be stopping in Chingford, providing improved connections for more Londoners.
The SL10 will offer Londoners additional bus connections to busy areas and neighbourhoods in north and northwest London. The SL10 will run alongside part of the existing route 183 between Harrow and Hendon, and part of route 125 between Hendon and North Finchley. This service will run every 12 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 minutes during evenings and Sundays. The route will allow customers using the new SL10 service to connect to nearly 40 other bus routes in the area, as well as rail services at Harrow-on-the-Hill, Kenton, Northwick Park, Kingsbury, Hendon (Thameslink), Hendon Central, and Finchley Central.
Routes SL1 and SL10 will connect at North Finchley with same stop interchange in both directions. Interchange will also be available between routes SL9 and SL10 at Harrow Bus Station, allowing for simple transfers across the multiple routes that make up Superloop.
The feedback from the SL10 consultation showed that more than 80 per cent of people said that the new express bus service between Harrow and North Finchley would make their journey more convenient. 83 per cent of respondents also said that they thought the express route would make their journey quicker, and 73 per cent said they would be likely to use this service to replace a journey made by private car.
The Mayor of London and TfL are committed to enhancing the bus network, with more than 95 per cent of Londoners living within 400 metres of a bus stop. In addition to plans for the Superloop, TfL continues to pursue enhancements to the bus network in partnership with London’s boroughs and has consulted on adding more than 500,000 bus kilometres this year. Thanks to the Mayor’s Hopper Fare, customers can take unlimited journeys within an hour for just £1.75. This not only saves money on multi-route journeys, but incentivises Londoners to travel more sustainably.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “Londoners can already ride on Superloop buses and I can’t wait for these two brand new routes to join them, providing quicker links between transport hubs, town centres, schools and hospitals in outer London.
“It’s great to see large numbers of Londoners saying these new routes could replace private car journeys, offering even more sustainable transport options and helping to build a better, fairer and greener London for all.”
Geoff Hobbs, TfL's Director of Public Transport Service Planning, said: “These two new services will be a significant addition to the bus network, providing additional bus services in busy transport hubs and locations across the north London area, as well as offering more travel options connecting to numerous other bus routes. As well as a new look and feel of the buses, the new SL1 and SL10 express bus services will provide cleaner, cost-effective, sustainable options for those making journeys in outer London. We'll be working closely with operators and other partners to introduce these new routes as quickly as possible, to improve public transport options and maximise the benefits of the recent expansion of ULEZ.”
Michael Roberts, Chief Executive of London TravelWatch, said: “We’re encouraged to see that Superloop bus routes 1 and 10 will be introduced by TfL towards the end of this year. These orbital express bus services are much-needed, especially now that ULEZ has expanded to outer London boroughs such as Harrow, Barnet and Waltham Forest.
“It’s really important that these Superloop buses have priority on the roads right from the start to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams. After all, passengers will expect to be able to get to where they want to be quickly - whether that’s work, a healthcare appointment, school or a shopping centre.

The diversion via Chingford will add to journey time? Doesn't give any indication of where in Chingford the SL10 will stop (Chingford Mount?)

I believe that the SL1 will use existing hybrids and the SL10 on existing electrics because the 34 uses Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied B5LHs and the 183 uses Enviro 400 City EV bodied BYD D8UR-DDs

And they [SL1 & 10] will operate on the 34 and 183’s contracts respectively

Just seen EP6 with ‘I am an electric bus’ branding. It didn’t have it before…
Why are Go Ahead London adding this to all their electric buses?
Maybe EP6 felt an overwhelming need to 'come out' as an electric bus, as he/she/it/they could endure the secrecy no longer. ;)

The consultation report (linked from the consultation page) says it'll be existing stops on the 34 route at the Crooked Billet (both directions), and Eley Industrial Estate (Eastbound) / Ravenside Retail Park (Westbound) to serve Meridian Water.

For the SL10 (Harrow - North Finchley), there are consequential changes to other routes. Again, the report is linked from the consultation page. The SL10 itself is described as being rerouted at Regents Park Road, Gravel Hill and Hendon Lane to follow existing bus routes-125, 143 and 326. Not entirely sure how that works, given that Eastbound the 125 and 326 run down to the very end of Hendon Lane before joining Regents Park Road just short of Dollis Park, whilst the 143 takes the right turn into Gravel Hill, then left into Regents Park Road. All three use Gravel Hill Westbound, however.

Consequential alterations involve making the diversion of route 112 (North Finchley - Ealing Broadway) at North Finchley permanent (ongoing since August 2020), along with enhanced frequencies, and extending route 223 (Harrow - Wembley Central) beyond Harrow to free up space for the SL10 to terminate.

The 329 might be moving to Wood Green
If so, to create space for the SL1?
I do not know how genuine this is though, hence the word ’might’
Just been informed the bus route 329 is now moving from Palmers Green garage to wood green garage so the Super loop can be based here . The drivers are fuming that this has been forced upon them .

A driver at West Ham has produced a number of Youtube commentaries on various aspects of bus operations at WH from the drivers perspective, he mentions that a sizeable part of WH is not in use by Stagecoach and is fenced off, he also says there is a rumour that Tfl want it back (they own the freehold and lease it to Stagecoach) - seems unlikely given that is probably the most modern depot in London and was the largest depot in the UK though I think Firsts Caledonia is probably now larger.
* Mods - the rumour about Tfl wanting WH back is just a rumour, it seems very unlikely but then we live in strange times!

Lost Property Office is being moved to West Ham (bus depot). Though obviously they won’t need the entire site. I am not aware yet of any other moves to there or how much space would be needed.

An Enviro 200 MMC on the B12 crashed into a front garden
Five people have been injured after a bus crashed into a front garden on a residential street in Erith, southeast London, following a collision with a car.
Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Park Crescent, at the junction with Bexley Road, around 7am on Tuesday after the collision.
Paramedics treated five people at the scene and rushed three patients to hospital. Two others were discharged at the scene.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue, the Met said.

A B12 bus operated by Go-Ahead London Transport appeared to have mounted the pavement and toppled a small brick wall before travelling into the grassy front garden of a property.
The front bonnet of the car involved in the collision has been severely damaged.

There have been no arrests.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.05am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus and a car at the junction between Park Crescent Road and Bexley Road, Erith.

“We sent two ambulance crews and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We treated five patients. We took three patients to hospital and discharged the other two at the scene.”

Louise Cheeseman, Transport for London (TfL)’s Director of Buses, said: “We are aware of an incident of a car colliding with a bus in Erith on Tuesday 5th September.

“We understand this may have been distressing for those involvedand we have support available for anyone affected by this incident. “A full investigation is underway and we are working with Go Ahead, the operator, to establish what happened.”

Rather than speculating about what registrations new vehicles may carry, perhaps you should wait until they've officially been allocated before posting.

It would also be helpful if you could specify what these vehicles actually are. Not everyone is familiar with London fleet codes.

Two weeks till the Orpington garage open day. Does anybody want to take a guess to what will be there?
My answer: some of Orpington’s native fleet, high floors and an iE tram.

With less than two weeks to our Orpington open day, we thought you might like a sneak peek at a 64-page commemorative brochure we have produced for the event, which will be sold for £5, with funds going to St Christopher’s Hospice. Joanna Keane, General Manager of Croydon and Orpington Garages said: "We look forward to opening our doors from 1000hrs on Saturday 23 and explaining to visitors how we run local bus services. There will also be a range of activities, including the ever-popular bus wash rides." Did you know that Orpington started operations with six buses and has since grown to be a major employment hub of just over 500 people? We are London's largest bus company and a part of
@TheGoAheadGroup
, an international provider of passenger transport.

Given that there is a very active Bromley Bus Preservation Group, with several former Metrobus buses in their collection, I think Ladbrokes have closed their books on any guesses.
Any Roundabout buses?

Here are a few that have appeared at rallies recently so they would be a good guess for attendance along with a number of Darts. Not sure if there are any "surprises" in the works that may appear:

Oh and one roundabout bus that does the rounds at open days and rallies but there is no connection to Metrobus (other than they ran around Orpington!):

This is what the new Wright StreetDeck Electroliner EV ordered by Stagecoach London looks like:

Personally, I don’t like the fact that they put paper blinds instead of LED blinds which would’ve been better to see from far away.

What are your thoughts on these new vehicles?

I'm personally a bit surprised at Stagecoach have gone over to wright in the first place, and paper blinds? Different
They ordered Wrightbus presumably due to Alexander Dennis not having the capacity to have that much currently when you factorize Go Ahead London and the groups large provincial Enviro400 MMC order.

However, the paper blinds are so surprising, as almost all new buses are LED blinds.

I wonder what the interior will look like - will it be a high spec beachball like every other Stagecoach London (such as the 160, 173, 174, 180, 673 and 674’s BYD E400 EVs) or the leather seats found elsewhere in the country?
