Eurostar are making changes following the merger with Thalys. The Eurostar app updated today and I note that the travel categories have been renamed. An example is Standard Premier is now Comfort. What concerns me is that I get the strong impression that there will no longer be any complimentary food and drink on the Brussels/Amsterdam route. The information is ambiguous. One page states that the food offer will remain rhe same. Another states that Comfort passengers can purchase food from the cafe.
Additionally, it says that Club Avanti Avantage level travelers can use the Welcome lounges at Paris and Brussels. Not quite sure what that means. It would be great if I had acces to the Business Premier Lounge, but sounds too good an offer.
I'd like those with the app to check the statements I've made and see if they agree with my conclusions.

Strange. The app still shows Standard Premier for me, with the same food and drink offer as before. What version of the app do you have. Mine is 15.0.92.

Are you looking at the former Thalys routes? In which case I don’t think the middle class had included food for some time.

Ah! That will he it. I've not noticed the important word 'between' with reference to the the Belgium and Netherlands routes.

Changes to club Eurostar will be announced on Oct 1st.

I’ve noticed that there’s a “My Subscriptions” page in the app though. I wonder what they’re cooking there.

I just want the upgrade using points option via the app back. It’s been gone since Covid

It looks like Eurostar are adding another tier in the membership called “Etoile” which is 5000 points.

The only details I could find are
-Anytime day travel
-Companion voucher
-Exclusive events

The website and app have been updated today. Any thoughts? Lots of animation but seems mostly the same. Thalys remains the same so far. Yet to see any e300’s under new branding yet.

It was actually updated yesterday.

In terms of the trains, both Eurostars that I travelled on yesterday had the new logos in place, and staff seem to mostly be wearing new logo pin badges. Tickets are also being issued with the new branding: standard class is a shade of cyan, standard premier is a similar colur to the LU Metropolitan line, and I cannot speak for business premier. The only trains that I saw without the new logos were every Thalys passed and the e300s. All other branding (e.g. on board displays, cutlery, safety leaflets, etc.) still had the previous logo.

Additionally, the wayfinding signs at St Pancras have almost all been updated to show the new logo.

It reminds me of the Southern TV logo of many years ago

I like the new wordmark (which is perhaps a bit of a throwback to the original '94 lowercase wordmark). The logo itself... it's alright, though it looks better now that I've seen it's a star within an 'e' which I didn't clock at first glance.

The main thing left for Eurostar to update is their Club Eurostar reward scheme. There aren't many details about what is changing aside from the fact there will be an additional level called "Étoile" as alluded to in the premium aspect of their ex-Thalys subscription pass, and in the Business Lounge pages.

  • All the perks of the Étoile membership in our Club Eurostar.
Business Premier Lounges are available to Business Premier travellers and members of the Carte Blanche and Etoile level of our Club Eurostar rewards programme. You'll find them in our London, Paris and Brussels departure lounges.

Got to say the new identity has grown on me somewhat - I really didn't like it when first announced, but think it looks quite smart particularly as implemented on the side of their trains.

I’m in the exact same position. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourite brands on the rails.

a ~ 1000-1500 point level between Avantage and Blanche would fill a decent gap in club levels

It's about the update of today, which is 15.0.93.
I'm on 15.03.96 and the app doesn't seem to allow you book an outward and return on the same day. Just 2 singles.

(I use the ARIA portal anyway, but was just playing around with the app for fun.)

Due to some leaky app coding I have some early knowledge of updates coming soon to Club Eurostar.

Status points will separate from reward points – so the latter can be increased by tier level and promotions.

A new tier Étoile (Star) will come in at the top, requiring 5000 status points in a year. Benefits include “travel any time of day” whatever that means, companion vouchers, and special events. 75% bonus on reward points earned.

Carte Blanche qualification goes from 2400 to 2900 points and stays as is in terms of business premier checkin and lounge access. 50% bonus on reward points earned.

Avantage qualification goes from 400 to 500 status points and gains access to “welcome lounges” – I infer these are the ex-Thalys lounges in the vicinity of – but outside – Gare du Nord in Paris and Gare du Midi/Zuidstation in Brussels. As they’re outside of the check-in it seems likely they’ll be lightly patronised as people will have to leave to go the station proper.

This should be announced next week to come in from December.

upping requirement for tiers sucks, already need to spend $$$$ for blanc for any actual benefits, Avantage doesnt have any actual usage

Don't worry about it, hopefully mods will merge this thread in.

Yes I’ve merged them but obviously there’ll be a little bit of duplication in a couple of the posts now. :)

I might be in the minority but I think this is a great rebrand, and the merger with Thalys might finally bring the long speculated London-Germany train
It won't because of:
a) The numerous practical and legal problems of conducting full baggage and immigration checks in any German station worth serving
b) Neither Thalys or Eurostar own any trains capable of running from London to Germany
