I’ve got an odd question, but I’ve heard a lot of people on a 12 hours roster saying how they get a week off every 4 weeks

How does that work?,is it just included in the 4 week roster as joined up days off, e.g a 4 days off week merging with the 3 days off the following week?

I saw an example roster when I visited a few weeks ago. It’s likely to change when the 60 hour rule comes in, but the one I saw was something like 4 on 3 off, 4 on 3 off, 3 on 1 off, 3 on 7 off. It’s an average of 35 hours per week, easier way to put it is working 14 out of 28 days.

Cheers will have to see what it’s like afterwards , hope it still involves a clump of days together as it sounds like a sweet shift pattern tbh

That is certainly how it worked on our line, and I think in most Welsh boxes doing 12 hour shifts.

Anyone passed their assessments and still waiting for a potential interview invite? Been nearly a month since passing my assessments. Starting to think I’ll probably hear nothing back.

I have this, my rota is as follows.

Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri Sat Sun
Off Off Off Day Day Day Day
Off Off Night Night Night Off Off
Day Day Day Off Off Night Night
Night Night Off Off Off Off Off

So every four weeks I get eight days off in a row. Unless I do ovterime which I do most of the time. I personally love the shift pattern, get a holiday every month!

Cheers, how hard is it to get a Sunday off if I wanted to book off the 4 nights before the 8 days off

Hi all, just a couple of questions. I’ve been given my start date and have 2 weeks of E-Learning. Is this done remotely from home or are we required to go to the base station to complete? Also what is the pay date for network rail? Just trying to figure out my pay schedules for leaving my current job. Thank you in advance.

It could be either, depends on your LOM.. I did mine from a depot/hq, doesn't take two weeks though.. And the pay date is today and paid 4 weekly

Will more than likely need to be done at your location, but your LOM will be able to confirm everything. Make sure it’s done though, the first week of IST is a bit alien without it!

Payday is today, and every 4 weeks from today!

Hi mate I didnt take the interview as something popped up last minute so cancelled the interview. Have you had yours yet?
Ahhh mate sorry to hear that. Like Daniel said:
No way. Will you get another date?
Did you get to rearrange or did you have to withdraw your application?

I had mines last week, just waiting to hear the outcome now, which based on others experiences in this thread, could be a while. So just hanging tight at the moment.

Have you contacted HR again to see what the status is?

3 months after the interview and being put on the reserve list I received a call offering me a grade 7 position at Cardiff ROC, on the Newport work station.
Obviously I'm really surprised and excited about coming on board.
Does anyone have any info about whatbits like there, rosters or potential start dates as I am waiting for that to be given to me. Thanks.

Due to start on the 30th of October and if I’m not mistaken, there is a pay day on the 10th of November. Can anyone shed any light on the cut offs for pay periods and whether I would be likely to receive anything on the 10th or whether I would have to wait until the next one before being paid?

Just so I can try roughly work out finances ect.

Thanks

Hi everyone

1st time poster. Just wanted to say thank you first as been going through this thread and picked up a ton of good info and advise that has helped a great deal in my application for a grade 2 signaller role with Network Rail which has helped me secure an interview.

I wanted to ask as I can't seem to find much info on Greenford Grade 3 box as I've noticed this one has been posted recently.

Whats it like to work that box and the shift patterns there.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

Cut off date is 4th November on Saturday, so you should get 1 weeks training pay.
