Didn't see your post in amongst all of this tonight!
Not really easy on a Sunday. Stagecoach services 94 and 97 are the nearest you'll get to Carlisle Airport by bus, the others are Telfords service 185, and Alba Travel's AD122, but, as far as I'm aware, the only one operating on a Sunday is the AD122.

Ex Preston Bus J113 KCW in service with York Pullman. (not my picture)

Ah that's great, thanks very much! Will try and cram on to the 1155 from carlisle. How close does it get to the airport?

edit: I've just looked on google maps, looks like it goes right past the airport?

Not sure exactly where it stops, but it stops at Crosby-on-Eden, then goes to Brampton, which is just up the main road, passing the airport.
As annoying as it is, your best option will be the Reays shuttle bus from Carlisle.

There are the Stagecoach 185 Carlisle to Brampton that operate on the Main road past the airport, you can get off at either Watch Cross or Irthington Road End.

I take it the wright B10s are to replace the step entrance B10ms and the E300s are replacing some of the MANs,whats happening with the volvo deckers??

Not really much chat about Volvo's at the moment. Some say all ten KL Tridents are coming to ME to replace Olys, others say that only 4 Tridents are coming to ME to free up the S reg Tridents for OT conversion.

I would imagine that the N reg Olys at PR are on borrowed time but apart from that I don't know.

17023 is back on the road after having its new engine and gearbox fitted.

Would they convert all 4 S reg Tridents as there is only 3 volvo open toppers in the North west

Thats a shame thinking they would of used them on the 755 or the sunday X55s/555s.

Probably to much trouble and the Sunday X55s are usually MAN operated I think. Would be a shame to lose the Vinyls but unless KL Tridents replace KLs Leyland which is unlikely they will have to go!

52628 doing X5 dupe this afternoon.
17017, 34616 and 35246 on 30/31 with 9 of the 11 MANs.
All Solo's on town services, and 47059 on short 302.
14234 staff shuttles.
16734 on 48's.

47059 was running around with an inoperative rear o/s indicator.

Been on the drink all the day so have not seen much but any amount of Reays Coaches on the shuttles long with at least 1 709D. At least 2 Weardale Tridents and 3 Compass Royston Coaches. The q's were daft and going from Nandos to the Border Rambler!

20924 & 33076 on 61s
B10M on short 685
20945 on 600

15679 & 15680 are the 2 buses provided from Gez's part of the world! Im back out again in an hour to have one to many but will be out tommorow from 12 and will provide a list of buses that Stagecoach are using!

Fife having a push on B10M replacements? Hence, Preston's ex-Fife MANs heading back above the border...

Not Stagecoach related, but I've been in Edinburgh all day, First just had the usual Profiles/Volvo Olympians (R reg)/Wrightbus/East Lancs Tridents flying around on various routes. The Volvo Olympians were replacing Wrightbus Eclipse Deckers. One of First's Profiles needs a re-paint desperately, The Paintwork was peeling off everywhere nearly.

I was up in Edinburgh a few weeks ago myself and observed the same thing. One of the First Profiles still had Welsh branding on it lol.

I think 47006 has broken down on service 22 at Frizington, I haven't seen what happened as I was told by a friend, and only seen what bus it was by looking at the ticket, I was told it was going very slow all the way from Frizington to Whitehaven, and I suspect it has been replaced by something better/newer.

Well then, it's over! The Radio 1 Big Weekend will have just about finished at the time of posting. Over the 2 days there have been about 80 or so Buses/Coaches used.

In use by Stagecoach tonight were

Carlisle - 16343/16337
Barrow - 18143/18144
Kendal - 18354/18356
Lillyhall - 16733/16449/16870 (16449 pulled with engine trouble & 16870 leaking everywhere!)
Morecambe - 15679/15680

Stagecoach Western - 18000/18003 & the Olympus they have!

On a side note Reays had just about every Coach they had in the fleet out along with the City hoppa fleet. Weardale had 5 Tridents and 2 Leyland Olympians out. 2 Leyland Olympians from Stanley Taxis (R6STX/R7STX). Numerous other Coaches out from Compass Royston, Staceys etc etc etc.

Will upload some photos tommorow once I have had some sleep!

Has anyone noticed this is no longer the most replied to thread on the forum?

Lilyhall sent there crap then what a embarasment bet reays were dead impressed wid that

Carlisle and Lillyhall couldn't have done much more. Scania's being on the 300, which many people would have been using anyway. MAN's not big enough or ideal. Deckers were ideally needed, which wasn't possible from our depots point of view. Nevertheless, Stagecoach did a good job supporting the event and supplying newer buses from other depots in the region in my opinion.
