Workington... Yay.
Lilyhall sent there crap then what a embarasment bet reays were dead impressed wid that

What did you expect them to send? It was an absolute mud bath up at the Airport yesterday, so therefore makes sense just to use the schools deckers! There was also lots of extremely drunk people getting off them.... no point sending a 60plate Scania for people to be sick on! I bet some of Reays newer coaches are in a fair state this morning.

Nevertheless, Stagecoach did a good job supporting the event and supplying newer buses from other depots in the region in my opinion.

Yes, everything went smoothly  16870 brought people back to West Cumbria. Followed it leaving Carlilse at around 2350.

Uploaded a few photos to my Flickr of the R1BW shuttles.

TBH, I don't think any of us here are bothered about the number of replies - the discussion of the subject is our primary focus :P

Saw a Solo on the 76 at lunchtime, but I can't get fleetnumbers from my bedroom window! First time I've seen one on my local route.

Having just looked through my notes from Saturday more carefully I see that both 34716 and 34718 were on the 179. I was paying more attention to the Big Weekend coaches: liked the Weardale destination screens and the number of Compass Royston coaches in use.

My shots of the coaches on Saturday morning

16649, 16870, and 16733 are not crap! They are quite decent. as has been said, Scanias would of been on 300. You should be like me and be proud of your local depot, I never call Lillyhall depot crap or rubbish.

14234 on 31!!

35248 on the end of Pickthalls truck just now, followed from Asby to LL

Aye 14234 replaced it. I forgot to mention. It was the same driver on it as it was on 35248 previously.

TBH I don't give a crap either. There's no point ofstedL (I think I got the name right!) getting excited just because that thread has overtook my thread. At the end of the day It's only a thread.

The solo was 47018. There were also 2 B10M's (20924 one of them) and 2 Olympians (16337 on of them) on Citi services today. Carlisle were short early doors.

It is normal to get the Darts on the 179 on a Saturday as they interwork with service 80 and the majority of 66 trips. 20924 was on the 61A on Saturday with 33076.

Anyone know what the two bus stops on Kingsway in Heysham are for? They are past the point where the 2/5 go back to Heysham Road, at the end of Littledale Avenue, here .

The 2 & 5 come down Kingsway and right (to the left on the map) up Sugham Lane.

Google maps has a bus stop marked there on one side (but there has never been any physical presence of one) but as far as i know, no service bus goes that way?

No idea, last year a driver told a friend of mine who lives on an estate off Kingsway that some new stops were been put in for the new X12 as it would run down Kingsway then down Heysham Mossgate Road to rejoin Heysham road. However the X12 was cut as we all know and I don't think the X22 runs down there as I've never done the full route.

Little Dave was randomly sitting in the info bus in Hala earlier which I thought was odd lol.

The funding for the new buses was cut for the X12.... however a route is still possibly in the pipeline....watch this space.
PX11 DMZ has joined its sister at Morecambe, sat in the rows. The tally of former Frenchwood vehicles is now 6, with 20477 (classed as reserve) joining 33163/71/2, 33203/4 there. 33163 is apparently on its way up to Lillyhall for what is understood to be continued storage, when they get around to picking it up, it failed on its original attempt to get it up there. Frenchwood depot is apparently struggling for space, so maybe (pure guess) some of the additional vehicles used on the Preston college contracts, of which there are around 5 may holiday at Morecambe depot or elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. Shows how rarely I am in Carlisle on a Saturday that I was not aware that the use of Darts on the 179 was a regular thing.

Allocation of the day goes to Reays, who had Mercedes 709D B8 CWR on CityHopper service 70 today, despite their guaranteed easy access adverts. The Bright Tech LED displays aren't programmed for the CityHopper services, so it just had "www.reays.co.uk" changing to their phone number, with a sign in the window with "70" on. I drove past their Wigton yard on my way home, and could only see 1 Primo in workshops on the lift, and their 95 Vario parked up next to a few coaches (709D B13 CWR was on 95).

22609 on 300-302.
16337 replaced a 61/61A branded Dart on 61/61A.
20909 was on 76, ended up on 67/68.
33161 on a Harraby route too.

34693, 34704, 34709, 34710, 34719 and 47022 all in Carlisle workshops.
Ex London Trident 17325 in bodyshop, still with Selkent logo on the back.
An UID MAN ALX300 rubbed down in the bus wash.
Withdrawn 20943 was half out of the back of the big shed, attached to the wrecker.

Yes I remember it was when the new gov got in and they cut a load of kickstart programs. I remember Gez saying that year that the X12 may still be run from January of this year so maybe it's just been pushed back.

20477 might be up here for good, not sure if Preston really need it any more but then again I think it was in service at the weekend...

Would be nice if LL could take it to work their magic on, for extra X5's, rather than the awful, knackered R-XVM's that are in storage at LL. LL's 20473 is a flyer now, quite easily the best B10M in the LL fleet!

Two more Ex London ALX400's at Willowholme this afternoon 17269 and 17325 assume these will be in for repaint as both are still red, 17269 still with Selkent motif. There was also unidentified Man ALX 300 in the washer with no fleet number or registrations plates but with new unpainted rear panel fitted.
