Yes, I keep calling them Citi Darts. I think I always will... Im not calling them "Straight to..................................................." It's just far too long. I have a few other names for them but there might be under 18's on here! haha!

"Useless pieces of sh*t" is a popular one! I think the best one came from the T on the flooded Darts, but I can't repeat it on here

Good grief! I don't know what is a matter with you West Cumbrian folk... You might get all the crap but at least the allocations are interesting and you have plenty deckers making apperances all the time!

Live in Carlisle, 39 Citi Darts to choose from with a B10M thrown in about once a week!

Can't beat a bit of moaning  Isn't too often a decker ends up on services other than 30/31, if they do, they usually replace something after doing school work in a morning, then are pulled off again to go onto school work in the afternoon. Just a shame that 16734 always seems to be out and about. Could do with a 1 way trip to a scrap yard that thing.

33162 on 62A this morning but replaced by 12.00 annoyingly!
47022 out on the 685 but was running late as usual and 33162 went out.
16397 is back on the Keswicks. Presume 16343 has went back to Penrith.
24122 making its regular outing on the 38's again. All Mans on the road as usual!

Western yet again had a 500 Coach on the X75. As normal it was 53003.

Not all of Lillyhall's MANs were out ... as usual
22598 on 31 decker slot.
20923 and 20994 on 31's.
16649 done a run on Moorclose 50, while 47062 came down from Lillyhall.
34218 on short 302.

Reays causing a bit of trouble in the bus station late this afternoon, after their ex CE 709D (B8 CWR, previously N647 VSS, wore all-over Honister Slate Mine vinyl) packed up at the X4/X5/Whitehaven bound 302 stand. Buses just ended up stopping anywhere they could in the bus station to get passengers on and off. It was eventually put onto a low-loader, and taken away at around half 6.

Good to see 22598 become a Decker!

Good to see 22598 become a Decker!

Must have been a shortage of deckers again. Fleetcard only shows LL as having 1 spare decker, but there's 2 really because "reserve" 16870 has been in service for a few months now. 16184 hasn't been seen for a bit, and 17017 has disappeared again. If another decker has been off, the only thing they can do is take the decker off 31, or take a Scania off 300-302 and put something else on. No where else a decker can come from annoyingly.

Off topic, with apologies, but rather intriguing nevertheless, thought it might be of interest:

A driver who evacuated 40 passengers from his bus just minutes before it exploded has been praised for his actions.

Driver Stuart Jones noticed smoke and flames as he drove the double decker park and ride bus near the Postwick roundabout at about 5pm on Thursday.

Paul Bonham, commercial director for Norse, said: “Stuart is a very experienced driver and acted very professionally by stopping in a safe place and making sure passengers left the vehicle quickly and safely. Our drivers are trained for emergencies of this sort, and this incident showed the value of that training.

“After the fire in this vehicle the engine compartments of all our other double deckers have been checked, and all have been found to be in good order.

Heard about it as the Mother in Law was in the very long queue that it generated.

33162 visited Dumfries yesterday on service 379 replacing a Enviro. Bet that was canny!!!!

20904 did the Carlisle 300 to Workington yesterday but was back in the depot at Carlisle by 10pm so a changeover must have happend at Lillyhall for some reason. I would imagine 20959 went out to replace it.

I too have been told to expect a number of minor service alterations, to try to combat the overloading issues on the university's services.

Why would that have any effect on Shaws, unless your coming to work for us;)

As I have said before on here (in late November), since the overloading issues started on the University services, there been 300% increase in the number of passengers using services 8A & 8C.

As for working for Stagecoach, The management don't know a good driver when they see one! Also I had enough of driving full-time, I trying to get back into management.

Town services all back to low floor.
20473 replaced 47061 on short 302, so 47061 could replace 16734 on 50, so deckers were available for schools.
16870 on 31 decker slot.
20923 on 31 as well.
35246 staff shuttles.
22610 on 300-302, with 15684/5/6.

Due to the windy weather and problems in Keswick, Carlisle are allover the place today.

47721 is on the short 685 while 47022 is at Penrith. 47721 has a defect preventing it from going to Penrith. Due to the traffic on Warwick Road caused by the road works 20960 was also on the 685, with the buses basically alternating after each run. 20960 then did the CE 300.

20977 is on Carlisle Races duties but has also done a trip on the 61.
47018 has been on the 104 but then took off and replaced 33162 on the 69.
16397 was on the 553 but replaced by 20907.
33076 on Annan Town service and then 93.

Did you drive for SC at one point, about 1997-98? I remember they used to use trainee drivers on the No. 1 sometimes as conductors (didn;t half speed things up) and a ic of you driving a Solo somewhere reminded me of that.

20965 towed into Carlisle depot teatime. Likely to have operated it's last service with Stagecoach after an incident earlier in the day.
