Hotel bedrooms overlooking busy railway stations

My grandson and his mother are currently staying in the DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds City Centre hotel in a bedroom overlooking the west end of Leeds station, much to the delight of my grandson. Many years ago I stayed in the Jury's Inn (now the Leonardo) whose upper floors have a grandstand view of the approaches to Glasgow Central. Where else in the UK can you watch lots of trains from a hotel bedroom? Can we set the criterion of at least four running lines visible to avoid responses such as watching trains at Tal-y-Cafn from the neighbouring eponymous inn?

There is an obvious international version of this - I have watched trains at the east end of Berlin Hauptbahnhof from a hotel bedroom - but it is the UK I am really interested in.

Not quite in the same league but the Premier Inn at Vauxhall overlooks the approaches to Vauxhall station

For those who can afford it, The Shard must have some wonderful views of the approaches to London Bridge.

Newcastle Station Hotel (I forget what it's branded as now) but some rooms there overlook the station itself.

Similarly the Great Easter Hotel at Liverpool Street, and I guess The Midland Hotel at St Pancras and the Station Hotel at Paddington, although I have not stayed at either. It most cases though you would likely only see the top or back of the trainshed rather than active train activity.

Crewe Arms Hotel definitley.
Was booked solid as a Migrant Hotel but now rooms available on again. Best rooms from our perspective are those in the main original building that over look the tracks and platforms to the rear. Dont get put into the new extension as all you will see is the car park or the A534 Roundabout at front. Ask for rooms to rear.

I'm sure there's a slightly restricted view of the railway at one of the hotels in Feltham seem to remember from a few years ago

The Novotel at Paddington overlooks the approaches there. Don't ask me which room numbers you need though!

Sleeperz Hotel has some rooms overlooking the south/east approaches to Newcastle but that is not the Royal Station Hotel you refer to.
The Vermont Hotel overlooks High Level Bridge but i am not sure if you can see the north/west approaches to the station from there.

Maybe the upper floors of the premier inn too? Pretty much on top of the station, so might see the roof and some of the tracks, but not the platforms.

Staying Cool at the Rotunda has a good views too, I’ve stayed there twice and had views of Moor Street the first time and New Street the second.

The two New Street photos were taken from the 18th floor. Not sure what floor I was on for Moor Street stay.

My grandson specifically asked about Crewe - he really wanted somewhere where he can see fast trains whizzing through.
beware only 1 Euston-Glasgow per hour "whizz through" in each direction, some Postal EMUs and a very occasional freight, see https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...4-06-28/0600-2000?stp=WVS&show=pass&order=wtt
If it's still open, the hotel at Glasgow Central has rooms overlooking the platforms
except that when I stayed there I saw only the station roof and some nice hills in the distance!

Premier Inn Portsmouth City Centre - had a high-up room overlooking the Harbour end of the island platform. Doesn't have 4 tracks but plenty of trains.

If you want fast trains whizzing through you want to avoid major stations! Look at London / Home Counties stations on the main lines. Sure I’ve seen plenty of Travelodges where I’ve thought that I’d never get a wink of sleep - but can’t remember where!

West facing upper floors of both the Travelodge and Holiday Inn Express at Stockport must have pretty good views of the station and northern approach but I don't think anything "whizzes" through Stockport...

There are a few high rise hotels near Cardiff Central which have a decent view onto the track and into the station.

Clayton and Radisson Blu, I believe.

You would get a good view of part of Manchester Piccadilly from what I believe is now called the Marriott Hotel. When we went in 2017 we were on the other side of the building though.
