I was planning to go to Bristol this week to see how Transpora were really doing and specifically the 23 and 90. I had been to Newport to observe the Foxstar service a few weeks before its end and made my own judgement which was unfortunately true. The excuse to go has now gone away; sad.

It appears that Mr Higgs and Mr Hand are going separate ways. Philip Higgs companies are renamed Transporabus SW & NW, whilst Rhys Hands are plain Transpora. In Bristol the O licenses were with Altonian Coaches / Transporabus SW (P Higgs), but they employed no staff. The staff appear to be with Transpora Group (R Hand).

It will be interesting to see how the routes continue, longer term.
For the immediate, subject to Monday's discussions, I think,

Big Lemon; X10 runs to Southmead Hospital as does their 505; The 60 shares roads to Wotton under edge with their 84,85, so one sees their attraction for those 2 routes. The X91 may fit with something else.

Stagecoach are stepping in on the 25.

The N2, 23, 90, 925(from Newport) seem likely to cease, without the staff bus services to support.

The staff buses CP1, CP2, AD1, LD1 have gone to?

How long did Foxstar/Cityfox or whatever it was called run for?

Transpora SW seems to have lasted 18 months or so, is this the longest lived iteration so far?
I seem to recall their Neath service lasted about three months before throwing in the towel?

I think Mr Rhys Hand should come and interact with us here to clear up a few things .

Let us hope that the PI in August comes to a satisfactory conclusion for the fare paying passenger.

As it's a Public Enquiry anyone can go along. Is that a good enough excuse to visit Bristol richard13?!

I am not sure how much of a different it will now make to passengers if the operator has ceased trading.

There’s always a chance that the hearing could be adjourned again. It’s been obvious from their published accounts that there’s been problems with the businesses for at least a year and I’m rather surprised that their Transport Manager hasn’t been called to the hearing.

The Directors (both current and from the recent past) could be banned from being a director, holding an o licence or being involved in the management of an operator.

Lemon have announced they'll be running 23 tomorrow as well, along with the Arthur David night shift staff bus (Last known timings: Bristol - Bishop Sutton arriving 1745 and 2145 Su-Fr; Bishop Sutton - Bristol 0200 and 0600 Mo-Sa). 23, X91 and AD work together as a reasonable package of work for one vehicle. N2 was also worked around the AD staff bus. Jason Freeman of Lemon Bristol is doing most of the PR work in keeping folk informed of what they're doing and what they're not (West of England Buses, Have Your Say group on Faceache is a good reference point) - 90 has been mentioned as not currently happening, but observations suggest this was by far the commercially weakest of the routes.

The West of England Combined Authority were also due to be announcing their next tranche of "WestLocal" contract awards soon (these having been delayed by the Election purdah rules) and i understand Transpora were likely to be running at least two of these, possibly more. I'd expect Lemon to be keen to capitalise on any of these which become available to them.

I was told once the zelo work went everything else would go as it was the only thing holding the company together ..the internal arguments and atmosphere is why 17 drivers left in less than a month. I feel bad for the passengers, especially those on the 60 who needed this service daily and were abandoned with zero contact or care from the company. This is the best news for passengers. As for Stagecoach, they will take anything that gets them deeper in to First territory and this is good news as competition is needed to pierce the First monopoly of Bristol.

A common theme of these ventures is that they always seem to have shiny social media graphics but not necessarily the operational/business heft to match.

Gloucestershire County Council have issued an emergency tender until the end of August for service 60 and stagecoach west have won it operating from Stroud Depot. Apologies if this is off topic.

I think the poster was confusing Neath and Newport. They never ran in Neath AFAIK. There were some teasers for a new venture in Cardiff but, as has been case in a number of instances, that didn't result in operations actually commencing.
Yes, it was Newport to Betws I think. Sorry about that.

I did wonder whether the 60 might be changed from Big Lemon as it was somebodies contract service, but I hadn't looked up whose. Travel West published what Big Lemon were doing today.

So Stagecoach West has regained the route - they won't actually need to update their Stroud and Dursley map as it still shows them running the 60!

I presume the drivers will work it as they did before from Dursley bus station alongside the 65.

It is sad and difficult for the staff, and passengers to some extent. For Rhys Hand and Philip Higgs it is the end of another dream (Transpora Group of London WC1) for similar reasons to previously. Philip Higgs in the few days before the inevitable, manged to separated out his Blackpool Business and his ownership of Altonian Coaches with its O Licenses. They have both faced the Traffic Commissioners before and will do so again in August.

However as always it gives opportunities for various people. Stagecoach West and Big Lemon are obvious, but other others have taken the staff buses and there will be unknown beneficiaries for sundry, often odd, reasons.

Looking back over the CityFox Bus thread, the Newport service ran from 3rd Dec 2018 to 2 Apr 2019. Dawsons repossessed their 3 buses for non payment of the leases and the whole business failed a couple of days later.

Not quite for Philip Higgs - he still has the original Blackpool businesses and I guess he'll concentrate on those. For Rhys Hand...the dream won't die. There will be another dream, another virtual empire to promote.

My thoughts are with the drivers and any other staff. They are likely paid in arrears (and understand pay has been a bit sporadic in recent weeks) so they join the list of creditors but not certain there's much in the way of assets.

Can anyone clarify if the T15, run by Londoner Buses as part of Transporagroup, is still running? (I can't quite keep up with previous posts :s)

Who has taken on the staff buses?
The big lemon are taking most of the work from transpora on.

FYI they were paid as normal Friday and there is no reason why they won't be paid, They're working for the big lemon now.

Zeelo isn't the be all and end all, it's absolutely rubbish work and believe me transpora did not need that to stay afloat.

I think you will find it is not any longer. It is no longer showing on the website and I do not think the vehicle is on an Anglia disc any longer. Theres a thing!
Which disc is it on? TFL seems to not have anything on their site for the T15 being operated by another company. If the vehicles are operating on another operators licence, they would have to apply for a new London Service Permit to operate the T15, if indeed it is still running.

Phillip Higgs is listed on Companies House as part of LONDONBUS4HIRE (LONDON) LTD. Formerly named Anglia Bus Company. If it wasn't part of the group, it makes no sense that the company supposedly operating the service is still under the control of Mr Higgs.
