37546 has apparently returned from Aberdeen (the one Ex-Manchester that’s still in Olympia livery), probably because they need more buses at Caledonia at the moment.
I presume this is bustimes. It is still at Aberdeen I have just seen it.

Yes - travelled on three of them operated by Stagecoach Manchester on Bee Network the other week.

I noticed they were much better than the BYD examples delivered last year - less creaking and squeaking
Maybe considering they’re brand new out the box the BYDs weren’t rattling when new either so its not a good comparison

Not my photo so credits to the photographer but I see one of the new airport Wright Electroliners has been spotted.

It’s nice to see new buses in Glasgow, although I have to say the current E400City’s look a bit higher spec in that these have no tables and they’ve reverted back to the old seating style. I also think I prefer the purple colour scheme - these feels very 2010. BUT if they do the job!

I actually disagree, I think it’s nice to see them change the colour to Turquoise, the last two sets of 500 airport buses had been Purple.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
Excuse my ignorance but the joys of being visually impaired, when you say the original seating style, have we gone back to low-back standard bus seats or is it just a reconfiguration of the layout? Presumably the lower deck features some luggage stacks as well as the wheelchair space

The previous 2 lots had more luxurious special seating, these have the seat style First have been using for over 12 years but with the new seating trim for the new purple liveried buses by the looks of it. There are the usual luggage racks.

So much going on with that photo... why does look as if it is being driven in ferry lift mode for starters?! I'm also surprised it's got the old style front/windscreen rather than the newer spec...

The comparison I made was against the BYDs at Go NW in Bolton when they’d been in service for a matter of weeks. Same with the new ones for Stagecoach Manchester so yeah, a pretty valid comparison

I scrolled by that photo earlier and never batted an eyelid at it as I mistakened it for an arriva vehicle and immediately wasn’t interested. They look poor compared to the current fleet is all I’m saying. Purely a tickbox exercise to cover the contract requiring electric vehicles on it and what with the demonstrator (38400) not getting good feedback, ADL/BYD was removed from the equation at the time. 43mph on the motorway, you would be missing your flight going at that speed

Not sure on the maximum permitted speed on an electroliner so will soon find out if they’re up to the task as no trial of them was given with First Glasgow

Are there enough vehicles available to cover the troubled E200’s or will there need to be any loans?

Could 37218 be converted to open top for use down south or is the damage more severe than seen particularly to the lower parts of the bodywork?

Hopefully the injured passengers will be ok
There is around 15+ loans at the moment to Caledonia. Blantyre, Dumbarton and Scotstoun all helping out with various E300s, 200MMCs and Geminis.

As for 218, I don’t think so. The roof damage is at the front remember which is the part that tends to be in tact for an open topper. If they’re that desperate for a B9 open topper then there will be plenty more structurally sound examples available within the full U.K. network

Think 38600 Would be Better and all the other things like Wright streetdeck or Next Gen ADL Enviro400EV or something else similar to 38400. 37218 Might Get Scrapped. The Enviro 400 City’s Might go somewhere else.

Looks as if the E400 MMCs in Weymouth are going so I suspect the E400 City’s will swap with them? Those 10 City’s to Weymouth?
Feels like a bit of a waste when the E400 City’s are literally airport spec already! They’re quite nice buses inside too. Mind you the original airport E200MMCs only lasted a short time in Cymru doing airport work before being moved into regular service in Bath so I guess it’s just whether needs them more.

Just wondering, when did you see it in Aberdeen?
It was parked in its usual spot at King Street Depot when i passed earlier. It has been off the road for about a month now having been restricted to 9U duties for a while prior to that.

The e200mmcs weren't allocated to airport work. Just one of them was (in a dedicated KLM livery for an internal route IIRC) with the rest employed on Cymru Clipper services from Swansea to Cardiff/Carmarthen.

The previous airport buses (e300s) retained their luggage racks for the 28 Taunton to Minehead service as they get loads of holidaymakers arriving by train and heading to Butlins so it was decided to keep them.

not apparently. its happening. 3 (69366/7/8) are already heading up.
I’m actual excited for Eclipses returning to Glasgow in public service.

I have a feeling though that they’ll probably stick around a bit longer and be turned into trainer buses once the E200EVs return in future, just like the other YJ08 Eclipses Glasgow has.
