The Manchester Wayfarer's rail validity extends to Grindleford, only 2 miles away from the Sheffield boundary, 2/3 of the way through Totley Tunnel! On buses it can get you as far as Crich and Ashbourne.

South Yorkshire don't go beyond the county boundary, not even that 2 miles underground to Grindleford.
Think the Manchester Wayfarer used to be called the Peak Wayfarer and covered a large area, in my opinion shouldn't be called "Manchester" as it's misleading - really sounds like it should appy to Manchester or Greater Manchester only. Also note the Wayfarer bus region is greater than the rail area, as it's possible to get as far as Burnley by bus but not train!

Despite Northwich and Warrington both being within the Wayfarer region, I contacted Warrington Buses and you can't use the Wayfarer between those towns (9c bus) as you go out and back in again; which would happen in the case of getting to Burnley by rail!

Yes, it used to Peak Wayfarer (see this bus advert!) but these days it's just Wayfarer (not officially Manchester Wayfarer). But a distinction is helpful because there's also the Derbyshire Wayfarer which is different.

But obviously its wide coverage area means it's not a Bee Network thing. So yeah, probably one for a different thread.

Yes, but on-topic after everything comes under Bee Network control (B-day??) then these region-wide tickets such as Wayfarer will still be honoured. Probably not highest issue on Burnham's list, and there's no reason not to, but conformation would be nice!

At least Bee Network has detailed maps. The Derbyshire Wayfarer, on the other hand, is as bad as the old PlusBus ones were. Just a lot of blobs scattered around, and no real indication of where the boundary ends!!

Mind you the Bee Network App needs a track-my-bus (track all buses) like Bustimes or the Brighton Buses app. It's a very fiddly app.
