I received an email from them this morning just getting me to confirm my psychometric test results as I've already passed them with another TOC but they didn't actually say if I had passed the video interview or not.

Yeah, just to say that the process will take a little longer than the dates on the advert suggested. They said they aim to have concluded the sift by the end of the week.
Cheers mate. Still waiting

Did they say if they accept the OPC test results on national or enhanced?

It shouldn't matter whether the tests were sat with OPC or RCG or anyone else, they all should count the same.
I have a national pass and they said that they were checking the validity of it to see if it can be transferred over. They didn't tell me what their pass standard is.

I've been invited to the psychometric tests. Got an email this morning and I'm all booked in! It's the week after Easter with the 22nd to 25th of April available.

I've been invited for the psychometric tests for the trainee role at Lumo (it's being done in Manchester with Railway Competence Group) and I was just wondering if anyone on this thread knew whether Lumo need enhanced or national standard. I've previously sat the tests with Northern and passed everything but the 2 hand coord test and didn't sit the MMI. Do Lumo use MMI or CBI?

I know, but there might be some qualified Lumo drivers lurking on this thread who might know. Or someone who works for Lumo. Or a driver from another TOC.

You’ll need to ask the RCG.

I had a full set of Psychometrics with one company but when I applied to Freighliner they wanted a DFFT pass. Which I didn’t have.

Even though I had a full set, I had to do that one stage one test.

Also enhanced level is set by each company, you might have an enhanced for one TOC and another say your enhanced score would not be enough for them.

But they will normally tell you what tests you need to do if you ask them. Well the OPC did for me anyway.

Thanks, I will do. I've emailed them my details and they will be checking the database, but I just thought I'd ask in case anyone had a quick answer. If they were national then at least I know all my passes would be valid, and if it was MMI then I wouldn't need to worry about future applications to Northern or TPE being an issue (if I don't make it through the 2 Teams interviews).

Just wait until they send out the practice material. I’m sure you’ll find out what tests you’ll have to do then.

Good afternoon folks

Have had the confirmation email today was successful, I have also emailed lumo to ask if my previous psychometrics are valid. They have responded to say these are accepted and valid. I’ve passed mine with scotrail - national standard. Hopefully, this will be helpful for others

Oh that's good to know! Thanks. So you can skip that section and go straight to interview then?

The practice materials wouldn’t state what tests you need to do if you’ve already sat them and failed one or more. The OPC would tell you on the day of your assessments what was required. You may be able to find out sooner by contacting them, but we all know how busy they are.

Correct, but part of the question was wether or not it’s the MMI or CBI that will be done and the practice material will surely indicate which one of them it will be.

Im fairly sure only Avanti do the CBI. I find the psychometric test situation all a bit weird and could do with further standardisation really. I realise some firms are either looking for a higher standard or use the enhanced as further sifting but it’s all a bit unduly secretive at times. Everyone seems to guess at what is required, and I suppose all you can do is your best with what is asked of you. Edit: I believe someone has confirmed it is STANDARD pass now.

But this being a qualified thread, everyone here has likely passed it and probably doesn’t want to be reminded of it o_O:lol:
Ha ha! Sorry, I wasn't trying to start a debate, just asking if anyone knew the answer off the top of their head.
