Well without trying to be rude, look at the VT network map (see, I've even provided a link), and then look at the stations which aren't on your 'list'. Then you may find that there are a lot, which aren't capable of holding 11 coaches, and therefore are being extended

I think you can put Rugby, Stafford, Warrington Bank Quay and maybe even Glasgow Central at the top of that list of stations that cannot take the 11 car pendo

Reading the thread, I am intrigued.
Some threads state that there is certain infrastructure upgrades as needed to cope with 11 car sets.
Considering that most stations where the pendos stop were built by LNWR and hence upgraded by LMS to cope with 14 carriage trains, where is the upgrade required? I only ask, as stations like Stockport. Manchester Picc, Preston, Carlisle already have platforms that can take trains of such length.
So are there stations that cannot cope?
This is an honest question, and I would love to know.
Bear in mind also that the carriages of the LMS, and even more so in the case of the LNWR and the other pre-grouping companies that went before, were quite a bit shorter than the current Pendolino carriages, although of course the LMS did settle on the sixty-odd foot length by the thirties, and had those 70' twelve wheel dining cars.

Wolverhampton, too: You can see the extension work taking place at the north end of the island platform. I should definitely think that there's quite a few platforms in need of extending.

I was at Wolvo a couple of weeks ago and it didn't look like work had started on anything, is this only a recent thing?

Also, some of the platforms at Birmingham New Street cannot accomodate the eleven car. I know platform 5 can only just hold the nine car given some clearance for the driver to see the signal so work is going to have to be done there as well

I thought I'd spied ground clearance work followed by bits of platform structure going up over the course of the last couple of months. I could be mistaken, but that's what it looked like at a glance.

The extension is now completed on Platform 2.

Or they could just ban 390s from platform 5. Probably easier !
In fact ban them from platforms 1-4 and 6-12 as well ;)

According to the West Coast RUS, platform lengthening for 11-car Pendolinos is required at:

Euston, Watford Jn, Northampton, Rugby,
Wolverhampton, Lichfield TV, Stoke, Macclesfield,
Wilmslow, Warrington BQ, Lancaster, Carlisle

SDO will be used at other stations which cannot be extended.

Carlisle is in line for platform lengthening? I'm stunned about that. Always thought that there was ample space for an extra forty six metres worth of Pendolino.

Any idea as to how they're going to do it? I can't think of a simple way of lengthening any of the platforms at Carlisle.

I'm stunned that they have to lengthen Euston's platforms, some of the platforms that have the Pendos on, you can fit them on and then stick another Pendo in front of it so that shocks me

Surprised Tamworth or Nuneaton, where VT stop irregularly, are not on the list but Lichfield TV is

And why lengthen Northampton? VT don't stop there

Rugby and Stafford can take them with ease!

WBQ is currently being extended.

Tamworth and Nuneaton can take them as 11-car just.

2 southbound VT services call at NMP.

Wait... if these platforms are all too short for 11 carriage Pendos.... what did the APT do when it was in service, thats 14 vehicles and I thought they were atleast 20m each.

Further to MattE2010s post, excluding the bay platform (P3) it would only be P6 at Rugby that cannot fit an 11 coach pendolino (they can just about squeeze a 9 car pendolino in!).
