Saw this on facebook. Basically, for anyone who doesn't work it out, the guy in the crappy hat held a ticket between Polmont and Edinburgh Park and he was trying to travel back to Polmont with this same single ticket.

Do we agree with "Big Man's" handling of the ned (which pretty violent as he chucked the ned on the floor)? In the Conductor's situation, would you have let him take him off?

As an aside, I get the feeling that the man was possibly a Policeman.

Although it's amusing, I wouldn't be surprised to see the "big guy" get nicked for assault.

IMO, the guard was also unwise in saying yes when he asked "shall I remove him?"

Unless he was BTP/Police etc?

The video is best removed as I can see cretins using it to their advantage. :(

A most pleasing outcome to a chav, but one that is best kept quiet.

They won't have any, of course. They are obeying the law and paying their way, it's not designed to protect them.

The manner in which the big guy assisted I'd say he was trained in handling and removing someone from a location, looked like he did it by the techniques bouncers and police are trained to do

Exactly. The conductor just asked him to get off.

When the passenger intervened the conductor didn't know what he was going to do.

The big man asked if he wanted him off, the conductor replied yes. It was inevitable how it was going to happen

I am now a bit concerned for the Conductor's job
You could contact the person who uploaded the video. I have.

While common sense says that the conductor did no wrong, some cretins may claim he should have said "no" when the other guy asked if he wanted the chav off the train.

Also the chav may use the video as evidence against the 'big guy', now I hope that the police and CPS would not put the interests of chavs above society but I am not entirely confident. Therefore, the video is best removed IMO.

In this case, the chav lost. But for each of these, there will be more occasions where the swearing, cheating chavs get their way sadly.

From the way the big bloke talks to the conductor, I'm guessing there was some previous discussion. So my take is the conductor knew that the fella was permitted to do what he did.

Seeing the way the big guy picked the evader up suggests he is police or a bouncer. Certainly knew how pick someone up.

I'm inclined to think that the Conductor was in the right, but I have taken yorkie's advice nonetheless, also suggesting that the video's OP write a letter of commendation for the Conductor to ScotRail's Chief Exec

Bit late for that now. It is on the front page of Reddit, which is one of the most popular websites in the English speaking world. It will probably be all over Facebook within a week.
In short, it has gone viral.

If I was the conductor, I wouldn't of intervened myself as it could of possibly made the situation worse. If this didn't happen though, would the conductor of called the police to have him removed from the train ?

This from the OP of the video
Hi
I'd like to thank you for voicing your concern, currently my inbox is getting spammed to hell ( this is my 1st proper viral video ) and you're message did stand out which is why i'm replying to you.
1. the conductor funnily enough is 4 weeks away from retirement
2. After all this stopped filming, everybody's contact information was shared . To which a lawyer gave the big man and the conductor his card so they will have good legal representation if court is the option the ned goes...
3. as there is a cctv camera at the other end of the carriage with no mic and in black and white i feel that this video might be required
4. as far as i'm aware i informed the scotrail guard what i was going to do when i got home and that the vid would be online
5. i did also have to fill a form out at the train station about the matter so i think that should be me covered
thanks once again for your concern but i am keeping the video up (its funny and ppl need a sense of humour)

Depends on how far away the police were. If the train was going into Edinburgh then it would have been easy because there would have been a police presence on the station to deal with it. As they were headed home then the lad could have just got off at one of the out stations and disappeared into the night.

Reactions to this video are interesting to me though, because a lot of people are of the opinion that a line was crossed when the big fella picked up the fare dodger. Truth is that no harm was done, the only thing that the fare dodger got hurt was his pride and perhaps (though I concede that it might just be me being wildly optimistic here) perhaps the kid learned an important lesson and will be a better person for it.

Very wildly optimistic!

The response from the video poster (in my eyes) calms my nerves about anything bad to the big man and conductor that may come of this.

Guy deserved it to be honest. Maybe it'll stop him fare evading now whereas if someone paid his fair or he got unpaid fair notice he would probably continue to evade.

I guess I am probably the only one on here that thinks the "big man" shouldn't have done what he did.

I saw something similar on the Sheffield Supertram. There, though, the appearance of the 'big man' telling the chav to get off before he f***ing threw him off had the desired effect. Again I got the impression the 'big man' was a bouncer and the other passengers on the tram were equally as appreciative as those on the Scottish clip.
