I have my induction at Basingstoke with you though. I'm in Basingstoke Monday, up to Waterloo Tuesday morning and then back to basingstoke in the afternoon. Then on Wednesday I get to meet my manager and the people I'll be working with in Southampton. No idea what happens after all that though, we'll probably find out on Monday.

Let me know how you get on, as I'll be doing mine a week later (6th Feb) for my Booking Office position.

Where is that based? May cross paths at some point in Basingstoke.

I'll keep you posted, If I don't fall asleep as soon as I get home

Training is something like 9-4 Mon-Fri

Gateline Waterloo is:
Earlies: 6:15-2:15 Mon-Thurs and 8-3 Sun. Fri and Sat is 6:15-2:45.

Late shifts are 14:30-22:30 Mon-Thurs and Sun. Fri/Sat lates are 15:00-23:30. This may not be 100% correct but it's along these lines. You'll be given a full roster after the training.

You may find that sometimes you cover the Subway barriers at Waterloo during the peak periods (06:15-10 on earlies or 4-8 on lates or something like that) and then go back up to the main barriers for the rest of the shift.

I heard Waterloo Gateline can do Overtime on top of your 37h Contract, lucky you as we're barred from doing Overtime at Clapham, they just get agency in

Wow cheers for the info mate, can't wait to start, can't wait for Monday, just 6days left!

Well tomorrow is nearly here! Got all my stuff ready such as passport, 2 passport sized photos, proof of address, bank details, p45, the references signed and all filled out forms lol dunno why they ask for most of that stuff again when I've already given it to them a dozen times! But anyway can't wait until tomorrow morning! Can't wait to get started! Who am I going to be seeing from on here tomorrow then?!

You'll be seeing me! Look for a fat bloke wearing a blue shirt with a grey jumper . If there is more than one person that fits that description then it could become awkward.......

I have everything ready apart from my p45, I can't get it from my previous employer yet as they owe me 2 days pay :(. Looks like an emergency tax code for me .

See you tomorrow greaz, bright and early!

I wore a suit on my first few days until I got the Uniform, it's definitely a good idea to leave a good impression! :D

And so might I . . .

We should organise some sort of SWT shin dig!

Spent an hour or so on the Gateline today and got my yellow train time bible ;). Couldn't imagine life without it.....

I also found out about lots of places I didn't even know existed :D. And now I even know which trains go there! Still so much to learn though.

Must say though, everyone at the station was great! Was nice working with some experienced railwaymen and hearing their stories, I'm sure there's more to come.

Not a bad idea. Theres Greaz, Cookiescrumble, MoleseyBoy, Matt Taylor & myself who are new/fairly new so it would be good to meet up somewhere. Would depend on everyones shifts though.

Yeah I'm up for that, but since we'll all be doing shift work it might be a little difficult to organise! (we're probably working on each others days' off etc.!)

Matt Taylor is an oldie btw, he's been with SWT for quite a few years and in various roles too ;)

Woah hold on a second there...breathe...

Wait until you start on the Gateline at freezing temperatures outside standing for the whole of your shift and you may reconsider that answer :p

Glad you're enjoying it though, SWT is a good TOC to work for in my views too!
