  • I made it onto the finall stage :D !! It will take place next thursday 24/10/13 at 13:00 in Glasgow. So one step closer but still much to do. Any tips from You?? You helped me a lot already so dont want to use You to much but any extra help is always appreciated
They kept me for about 50 mins. I had ''ice breaker'' to start with - tell me about yourself then, what are the main responsibilities of a train driver ?? what are the challenges you can face in this role, what do you know about comapny and waht reaserch you did :D --That was my favourite !! Give an example when you recived negative feedback that helped you to improve, that was the hardest but made it to. Will let you know if i get to the next stage, hopefully you can still remember what happened there :)
Just came back home after my interview, I use almost every single thing from my reaserch about station, train types and routes, You really helped me a lot, I dont know the result yet but I am feel positive :) Big thank You
Tried the Edinburgh vacancy but the distance from the depot to my home was too far so no luck. But have a conditional offer for Direct Rail Services as a trainee driver pending my medical booked for this week. How is your training going? You must be nearly done!
    Hi again
Best help from you again. My interwiew is tomorrow 16.10.13 at 13 45 at waverley. Will let you know how i did
    Thanks
    hello vernon
Thanks for words of encouragement in Waverley drivers post :) I Found some of your previous posts very usefull, I think I did my homework about company research, I visited waverly st and spoke with one of the drivers i also took a train with him to north berwic and back just to see how it works, i spoke with Natalia - polish customer service representative. Also went to Newcraighall station to have a few worlds with two drivers, one of them was Craig and another was Kevin a Trainee like yourself, he started in may this year.
All of them were very helpfull, told me about the routes operated by waverley drivers and some facts about ongoing electrification of Falkirk line as well as Borders Rail to Galashiels. Wanted to ask You whether are there any facts about waverley station and routes that are not available to the public but drivers working there may know it, so i can share this at my interview and surprise my interviewer. BTW what is the name of DM at waverley?

    Hi Vernon,
I am going to apply for the trainee train driver role with scotrail at Edinburgh Waverley. The vacancy closes on wed 19th and lucky for me that is when my six month wait to reapply will be up. Applied last nov for Glasgow Central, passed the first assessments but failed the managers interview. What i was wanting to question you about is where does your training take place, i live in Glasgow and i know training takes place there. I am obviously willing to relocate to the Edinburgh area if needs be but in the meantime my partners parents live in Edinburgh and can use there to stay nights too.
    Thanks in advance David
    Hi Vernon,
