Weekend WCML Works?

Hey all, I shall be working in Preston on Saturday and noted today that there appears to be engineering works happening at Acton Bridge over the weekend. and although it won't affect me on the way there (going early morning),
My return journey which would normally be 40ish minutes is going to take an hour and 25 on the way back but apparently will not call at Warrington Bank Quay? Anyone know why (just curious) I know it's totally understandable that they could not route any Pendo's via Runcorn East/Frodsham/Chester due to severe lack of OHLE.. but curious to as which way they are likely to route them to add to the extra timeage? :-?

It's only Birmingham to Scotland services that get the diversion (due to being mainly Voyager-operated); there are no through services between London and Glasgow Saturday afternoon/evening (Virgin advise going via Manchester for that).

Chester-Warrington-Earlestown also closed, through trains diverted via Northwich.
Closure appears to be Weaver Jn-Wigan.

Wigan - Dover is valid via Manchester on a walk-on ticket even when there is no diversion.
