I may just be going insane, but ...

I travelled on the 1646 Hamilton Square to James Street today (2 Dec) and carefully noted that I was aboard vehicle 64388.

Does it exist?
Does 507022 exist?

(They're missing from my NREA listing, implying withdrawal)

Help!

Panic over. 507022 does not exist. 64388 is now in 507004.

And prior to scrapping 507022 was stored (c 1995) at Llandudno Junction. 6G!

An unusual request this...

Sitting sipping a large brandy whilst writing fanfiction, I heard a locomotive's horn or a train's horn at about 01:18 - and then again at about 01:25. Living only a few hundred yards away from Walton Street crossing, I rushed outside to the main road to see the barriers down with lights flashing but no light engine or train passing through. However, there was a distinctive noise of a diesel engine coming over the night air. I looked up anything on RTT but there was nothing that could have been it...

Anyone able to help with anything that might have been around Walton Street Jn around 0100 - 01:30?

There looks to be an engineering possession in the area, starting at West Parade North Jn yesterday evening, with the trains leaving from Walton Street Jn this afternoon. I can only assume what you saw was a movement with the possession. Based on this the locos on sight are...

Two machines, one I think was a 731xx tamper, were at Leicester at around 18.00 on 23rd November. I could not get either through being bowled by the platform buildings! They were parked in the sidings opposite the up island.

Also a 754xx ( I think ) tamper at Bedford in the depot at 11.18 on the same date.

Ah, that explains it... I went to the Car Boot sale this morning held on the fairground next to the line and saw a gaggle of 66s on both lines. Thanks for the help - I thought I was hearing things
