Just to clarify, 478 will be returning to service with the original seats, the ones ScotRail are refurbishing will be getting new seats?

Good news 478 is on the way back!

Sure is, it's one of the many ScotRail 156s I still need.

Same here. Now just need them to fix 150275 which has been in Kilmarnock since April.

So any news on this please? Last I heard was that it was still at Kilmarnock? Many thanks.

still at Brodies. passed it several times today. Appears to be waiting for the Scotrail graphics vinyl wraps to be applied before being released back to Scotrail.

Not a great reason for having a train lie doing nothing. Some 158s ran around for up to a year in base blue before having any vinyls applied.

Still awaiting testing to be done before being released from Brodies, which has now been put back by around a month.

Should be plenty of 156 units spare this coming week apart from a couple of days.

Would think there could be the possibility of a unit finishing at Kilmarnock off a 4 car unit that could go to Broadies instead of going to Glasgow and on to Corkerhill after evening peak hr.
If the unit came fuelled from Corkerhill prior to working to Kilmarnock then unit should have enough fuel for the following day and shouldnt need toilet tanks emptied either
Unit could then start a peak am service from Kilmarnock after 7am

Just a couple of thoughts

It's been in that state for nearly a month now. It has an outstanding electrical fault that they are having difficulty fixing. Don't expect to see it back in service anytime soon.

Rather hope they can fix it soon :)

Bring on its return to passenger service!

That's a pity it's not back in service now. I'm getting a Glasgow Roundabout on Tuesday and hoped it would be running. I will just have a go at getting my other two required scotrail class 156s for haulage (156439&156447).

As in, "they've already tried coupling it to something else and it didn't work", I wonder?

They have a couple up there to choose from. 155346 has been there since May I believe. 150275 since April.

156478 is still at Brodies no nearer to being back on the mainline it would seem however it's playing it's own version of the hokey cokey, seems to be constantly in and out the shed. Hopefully wont be too much longer now. Here's a link to a pic i took yesterday while out for 'The Ayr Apparent' railtour.

Nice picture, rossco...

I hope the old girl is out and about soon - Scotrail should give it a funny name like "River" or "Noah's Ark"

Hoped to be out next couple of weeks. A couple of faults have proved challenging to rectify, but we're nearly there- from a fleet manager.

156478 now had the spots applied. I've been informed it should be leaving soon.

Looks nothing like a write-off. Good job by all.

Looks like they are going all out Anglian by painting yellow higher up the face of the unit, compared to before.

Never the less, looking great given the state it was in.
