Is anybody here collecting McDonalds Monopoly stickers? In order to enter the prize draw for the Mini I currently require the "Bond Street" sticker :D

We sometimes do that, when we go to Maccy D's. Unfortunately, I'm not so lucky...:(

They should scrap the Mini, and get a Range Rover Evoque, then I'd be more motivated! :D

I've only ever won a free apple pie or a sundae on that. It's actually refreshing to see a competition where you don't need to give your personal details before finding out if you've won.

Nice weather today. Think I might eat dinner in the garden later.

There was a wasp in the bathroom today which somehow managed to get under my tee-shirt when i got dressed after my shower.

Stupid thing stung me twice.

The caramel flavour hot cross buns from Tesco are really nice, I fully recommend them.

Years ago I got into bed and got stung twice by a wasp (not the worst thing I've ever got into bed with mind).

I feel the pain. :(

I thought wasps weren't common at this time of year either.

One wasp hardly rates as "common" although I also saw one today and there's a fair few bees about. It's what we in the trade call "spring".

Tesco expensive? 20 cans of Strongbow for £11, that's so cheap I can't afford not to buy it..

There was a bloke in my home town who we called 'Zider Monster' because he drank so much of the stuff that one night he ran out of the house and down the road convinced he was being chased by monsters.
Just saying.

Around our most select area of the Cheshire Golden Triangle, only "posh" wasps dare enter and all the "common" wasps all head off in the Manchester direction...:D

Posh wasps are easy to spot, instead of yellow and black stripes they wear blue shirts and white shorts, unless they're playing away.

They're not that expensive, they were only 65p for four, less than what I've paid for four in Iceland. When it comes to fresh bakery produce, we tend to go to Lidl or Tesco, the croissants from the former are possibly the nicest croissants I've ever eaten.

I usually do most of our shopping in Iceland, although my Dad gets things like fruit and veg, meat etc from Tesco. If we bought all of our shopping (for three adults and a baby) from Tesco, then it would easily be £100 a week, but as we split it between Tesco and Iceland, we rarely spend more than £70 a week for food and baby essentials.

Thought I'd tackle a few rusty bits on the van today. I rested a ladder on the front so that I could get to the bit above the windscreen. Unfortunately it shifted when I was up it and cracked the screen.
I believe the phrase rhymes with clucking bell.

Unlucky mate, hopefully a replacement isn't too expensive.

My Sunday afternoon chore today was hoovering my Dad and I's cars out, in return I got a delicious pork roast cooked for me.

Thanks mate. That sounds like a good reward for car cleaning :)

Give the local salvage yards a call, I'm sure they'll be able to find a replacement windscreen for you for a reasonable price. I don't think it'll be too expensive for a professional window fitter to come and change them over either, unless you feel confident to do it yourself of course.

Oh definitely, well worth the effort. I ate the lot too! :)

The thing is (and this may sound a little careless), this will be the fourth windscreen it's had in six years.
This is what's happened:

1st replacement - I reached over to get a ticket from the toll machine on a French motorway, Mrs C was asleep and I didn't want to wake her, I head butted the interior mirror that doesn't even need to be there while trying to get to the machine on the opposite side of the van and it cracked the top of the screen.

2nd replacement - Under the screen is quite a lot of rust (a common Sprinter problem area), they had difficulty getting the new screen in and within 6 months a crack started to work it's way up from the bottom.

3rd replacement - stone kicked up from another van on a dual carriageway. This time the windscreen company took it into their workshop and cleaned up as much of the bad area under the screen as they could. It's been fine ever since but I know they'll struggle again.

4th replacement - I hope I've still got windscreen cover on my insurance. Will check tomorrow...

I can top that; I've got a broken screenwash stalk and apparently it'll take six weeks to get hold of the part as it's not readily available. It's not actually the stalk itself that's broken but the small pivot covers on the base it is mounted on.

It appears it's a single part number for the entire assembly with both stalks so two little bits of plastic about one cubic millimeter in volume each are going to end up costing me the Sterling equivalent of €150 to €200 plus delivery to the UK, then a 2 - 3 hour labour charge at a garage ( steering wheel has to come off to swap the stalk assembly... )...

Just to add to the fun, the quoted six weeks for delivery puts it very, very, tight on my MoT...

Talking of breaking things, a few years ago my Dad was unloading the washing machine at the end of its cycle and as soon as he opened it, the door came off in his hand. Fortunately, as we rent our washing machine from Box Clever, a replacement door was fitted the next day.

I reckon you must have a Russian van. Have you noticed that on nearly all dashcam videos from Russia there's a crack in the windscreen?

Maybe that's what it is. I must admit I have watched a few Russian dash cam clips, I particularly like the overloaded scrap metal lorries going around roundabouts.
Old trucks with no brakes and driving your car flat out on an icy motorway seem to be specialities too.
