When I was over in Switzerland back in the early 90's I had a first class all line 10 day rover and made full use of it. One trip I did was from Geneva Airport to Basle as the train had the Mcdonalds coach. I visited it twice on the trip. It was set up very casual inside. I remember one group having a business discussion sat round a small table. One my second visit to the car, I ordered Chicken Mcnuggets. The fryer did not have enough power to work, 'no energy' said the server, but we came into a station, the pantograph went up, and hey presto, they had enough power. Hag did a HO model of the coach, and the little people to man in, which I still have.
As a slight aside, DB ran one for about a year on the Berchesgartner Land IC/FD train. The coach was in the standard IC red, with just a M sign on the side. The swiss ones were all over advertising, one in red and one in gold. The one I went on was the red one. SBB produced a leaflet at the time, telling you of all the different restaurant cars, what trains they were on and such. I did not get to try the Cheese Express and missed out a Le Buffet Suisse one as it was full when I got on at Bern. On an Italian set, due to them having a lack of swiss francs for change, I negotiated for two packs of Salami. Happy days.
