Afternoon all. Just in the process of putting together interview responses for my DMI. Just a quick question, I have worked in the emergency services for 13 years so naturally a lot of my interview responses will come from my current role. Is there any rule or guidance on how recent your examples are? Trying to add some variation to my examples but they will be 13 plus year old.

I worked in emergency services for similar length of time and I used examples from that in my DMI (and MMI) almost entirely, there was no issue with that. Plus I’m sure your evidence for your answers relating to your role will be varied anyway so just use your strongest examples, wherever they are from.

That's great, thanks for the response.

Trico382 how long you been a depot driver? You enjoying it? How's does it compare to being in the emergency services?

Could anyone say when your asked to go for the medical, how long is it before course dates are sent out? Or are you called about course dates first? Any information would be appreciated.

You are given a job offer and start date first, and provided with details to book your medical and a pre-employment meeting with HR. (This is where you can ask questions about EMT and your role before you start)
The medical will typically take place at EMT's Occupational Health office in Leicester, and the Pre-Employment Meeting normally takes place at EMT's head office in Derby. (Not to be confused with the Academy ;))

Once you have been given the all-clear from your medical (a few days later as they have to wait for drugs test results), EMT will normally contact you again to advise you that you can hand your notice in at your current employer.

I'm probably a bit late to answer this one but in my interview I used examples from 2001 from when I was working for an airline on September 11th. I passed my DMI so I guess it was okay to use nearly 20-year-old situations?!

Hello,
Could someone tell me if stage one is just the psychometric tests or the tests and an interview as well?

How do you feel you got on today Mr Greedy?? I messed up on the phone directory, I wasn’t fully aware of what was to be done. Finger crossed anyway!
Think I did OK, (he says), everyone I spoke to at the break all seemed to be getting similar sort of ways through the exercises. Just a shame we got held up at beginning with 2 guys who were 'asked' to leave.

Now the waiting begins again, although did get a bit giddy earlier when I had email from East mids come through... Turned out to just be a promotional thing.

Haha what must you do to be asked to leave a testing! Did they let it get to them and start streaking?!

Really, asked to leave, oh my goodness. Hope it didn’t put you off. Best wishes.

Just a quick note to wish everybody, including myself, taking first assessments in Derby today all the best.

Best of luck in progressing to all those who attended yesterday too.

Cheers.

All the best to everyone who had test today. I felt went ok but I just hope I'm right.

That last test counting the tones and marking the phone directory was bloody chaos. But felt the rest of the day went well. Fingers crossed, put a lot of time in and gave it my best, will have to wait and see.

Hi guys and ladies I've been lucky enough to get to stage 1 at the end of March.I have a question about medicals.I have no health concerns and am not on any medication for anything.I am however above the recommended highest bmi of 33.Obviously I am working on reducing my bmi.But if I was lucky enough to get to the medical stage would it be an instant fail if my bmi was still above 33.
