Out around glasgow today on a Handful of B9’s and B7’s, the B9 is still a favourite(no matter the operator), with the B7’s a close 2nd.

Im still so surprized at the way a 15 year old 2004 B7TL rides and floats over the road but the “Hoover” effect has always irritated!

B7TL s feel solid , the B9TLs feel spongy . Though wish they refitted new seat coverings .No wonder my clothes stink after riding them and the eclipses

I understand all the pro-first boys hate me for it, by why have I just seen a 200 Classic on a 1B? Packed too the gunnels it was.

Now these are the very big downsides to the group, why do they even think that's normal?

What is a 200 classic?

I always recall a back shift on an 88 years ago, I had a window broken at springburn shopping centre, when I got to the bus station I got a bendy before they all left, was well chuffed!
(And a B12B tri-axle on Stagecoach Fifes 33 lol)

I am starting to hear a good few of those B9’s starting to hoover all the time as well, given that Transdev has said many of there vehicles are achieving 10% fuel gains with an Avid eFan unit and uprated alternator/s it seems a worth while investment to refit electric fans on midlife vehicles, thats if the payback can be achieved through these saving in a relatively short time, there after the savings would be money in the bank, investing for the future if you like.

The really interesting thing for me is i've never heard any of our B9TL/Gemini's in Aberdeen with a cooling fan, yet go to George Square and you're bound to hear one in the distance. I agree they should have looked and fitting eFans to the B7TLs in particular, however it's financially too late now.

Doesn't quite beat Stagecoach here putting a Astromega on the Service 119 in place of a Solo. The 119 for those who don't know goes in to some really narrow residential areas. Back when Grampian operated the service as the 21 it used to be company policy that nothing bigger than a 709D was used on the route.

I have no idea what an Astromega is?

I'm sure I've seen a Gemini repainted into the urban livery still with a flip dot destination. even if they were to replace that with one salvaged out of one of the scrapped tridents would be better.
Probably YN53 EFE (31787) best B7tl in the fleet :)))
Looks great with the flip dot imo

Tbh First Glasgowand Midland Bluebird seems to be the main operators with loud cooling fans. Very rare occasion to hear them anywhere else

I much prefer the B9TLs to the B7Ls and the only reason is because of the loud fans. The 61 used to see some of the nosiest B7TLs and they became really grubby also. I’m glad the east end is starting to see more B9TLs with some appearing on the 60 now too.

I always feel like they could have did more with the B7TLs but they let them run to ruin a bit. Grubby seat covers and loud fans which make sitting in the lower saloon very uncomfortable on the ears!

just seen it myself in caley depot.

longer than the other e400mmcs with luggage racks

Hadn’t noticed the difference in size... mind you it caught my eye and only saw it at a glance. Can’t imagine many people use the 77 for the airport but they must do.

yeah it's definitely longer than the others. you do get a few airport punters on the 77.

New E400MMC for the 77 sitting in Caledonia depot. Looks good
There is another one at Scotstoun, was parked amongst the buses awaiting service at lunchtime.
A varied selection parked at the back of the car park as well including Marshall Darts, various Volvo doubles and singles and at least one of the original E400s.

When I drove passed Caley again this afternoon there was no 77 bus there any longer. Perhaps it’s been transferred to a Scotstoun and this is the one you’ve seen.

Are there unbranded refurb B9s coming through now? All the ones I’v seen so far have been branded for the 61, but I saw a very fresh looking Northern Irish plated one on a 4 today & didn’t see any branding
