you sure it was 253...? already back in service on 25/5/19, unless that's a normal amount of time to get it back up and running...?
I mean the first picture on the article shows 253 surrounded by the fire service so yes I’m pretty sure....

This is totally anecdotal, but I thought all 150s, Pacers, 155s and 153s (possibly 156s too) had the same seat pitch (Nothern's pacers aside, most of these also seem to have the same type of seat meaning legroom is the same); meaning I am always uncomfortable if I'm sat in 'airline-style' seating on them.Yes, they really are awful. It's not worthy of being called legroom. I happened to take a 170 today and I was worried about legroom having seen some of the reviews on here. Clearly passengers south of Birmingham are spoiled - it was a fantastic diesel unit by Northern (and TFW) standards, and the legroom was absolutely fine. Certain 150s (and some 156s too if I recall correctly) are the absolute worst for this.
I think the XC 170s are ex-Central Trains except for the /1s which were the early 170s new to Midland Mainline in late 98/early 99This is totally anecdotal, but I thought all 150s, Pacers, 155s and 153s (possibly 156s too) had the same seat pitch (Nothern's pacers aside, most of these also seem to have the same type of seat meaning legroom is the same); meaning I am always uncomfortable if I'm sat in 'airline-style' seating on them.
Class 170s on the other hand seem to vary, on most of the 170s I've used the legroom seemed to be about the same as a refurbished Arriva Trains Wales 158 (ie. not quite enough but way better than 150s). However I had one journey on a CrossCountry 170 from Newport to Gloucester and was glad I wasn't going any further because it was so uncomfortable; I guess the XC 170s have a smaller seat pitch than the London Midland, Greater Anglia and ScotRail examples I have used.
You wouldn't think TfW can afford to have any long distance units out of service to act as 'spares donors', but this 175 must be beyond repair.
Just got sent this. Does anyone know which 175 this is and the current situation of it...? Apparently it's a "spares donor" which seems odd as unless there's a 28th 175 I don't know about, all 27 are meant to be for service yes...?
That's what I was thinking... Very keen to know which one it is and what the situation of it is!You wouldn't think TfW can afford to have any long distance units out of service to act as 'spares donors', but this 175 must be beyond repair.

Pretty sure that is Chester, sidings behind platform 7, but open to correction
This is great news!769002 has been moving around Canton depot under it's own power so hopefully soon it will be out testing and training staff
As previously repported the carriage on the right is from 115 whilst the one on the left is from 006. by 1000 this morning they had been joined by unit 001. Another 175 was on the Chester shuttle. whilst 150208 and 158841 were on the Chester to Liverpool Lime Street service.Saw it today - its 006. There was a fitter in it around 0645 this morning. Not sure what is up with it...
Had a few out of service everywhere yesterday, no major issue though. My normal train was a 158 instead of a 150 the first half of the week, back to normal today though.TfW may appear to have a 175 shortage but yesterday three car 175113 was operating on the Chester to Liverpool Lime Street service.
769s: 2 units (002 and 008) at Canton depot, 002 been moving around there under its own power. the remaining 7 units being converted at BrushCouple of weeks ago some members (I believe possibly tfw employees) insinuated that plans are been drawn up for extra trains of an undisclosed type and number but weren’t able to specify at the time, are they any closer along with this or the forum members able to give more details now?
Only 5 carriages out of 56 extra that should have been in service by now are! (5x153, 36 x769 - 9 sets, 15x230 - 5 sets ). How is it looking with the 170s for October? ( another 32 carriages) anyone in the know?

I meant the posters a few weeks ago were suggesting/insinuating trains other than the ones mentioned above were being lined up to make up for the fact that the above have not yet arrived to cover for PRM mods but they were unable to give details at the time769s: 2 units (002 and 008) at Canton depot, 002 been moving around there under its own power. the remaining 7 units being converted at Brush
230s: TfW units the current build at Vivarail - "all 5 have started production at some stage", now that the London Northwestern ones are in service
170s: their lease with Greater Anglia expires on 1/10/19, I heard 2 of the 12 might be early 2020. The other 10, TfW may start to get them early

My reply was only to your second paragraph. Sorry, I should have made that clear.I meant the posters a few weeks ago were suggesting/insinuating trains other than the ones mentioned above were being lined up to make up for the fact that the above have not yet arrived to cover for PRM mods but they were unable to give details at the time
