Thanks for all the info
Are you sure you've got them the right way round? Last I saw, BN23 was at Ferme Park.BN23 and BN24 are believed to be off lease. Saw BN24 in Ferme Park and BN23 at Bounds Green. They haven't been debranded yet but have had wheel stoppers attached to all wheel sets so the sets cannot be moved.
Yes, 82229 was the DVT I saw in Ferme Park when I passed last nightAre you sure you've got them the right way round? Last I saw, BN23 was at Ferme Park.
Now cancelled; rescheduled for Tuesday 4th of June.First set goes off lease tomorrow, believed to be BN23

It is scheduled to be hauled by a GBRF loco
I believe ABRail stopped being updated a while agoI have had a look at the ABRail website (https://www.abrail.co.uk/lhcsstockformations.htm) for the Mk IV formations.
I still require DVTs 82210, 213, 216, and 225 and according to the mentioned website, these are on sets BN05, 13, 25, and 17 respectively.
Also, I have noticed that the section of that webpage was as of November 2018. Do the DVTs get swapped about often, or is it mainly the locos?
91103 is back up and running.
The DVT's usually remain in that formation although when a DVT needs maintenance, the spare DVT (82224) fills inI have had a look at the ABRail website (https://www.abrail.co.uk/lhcsstockformations.htm) for the Mk IV formations.

do you or anyone know what the plan for it is...?BN23 has become the first MK4 rake to leave the fleet, it was hauled to Worksop by 66749 today

My understanding is that the first three mark 4 sets are going off lease so rapidly, ahead of any HST sets, because vehicles from them are required for TfW's three sets to be in service before December.I would assume that at least some if not all vehicles from the first off-lease sets will be destined for Transport for Wales and GNWR (or what ever the open access operator for the Euston - Blackpool services are called).
Other than that, the pessimist in me thinks Worksop is a temporary stop-off en-route to a scrapyard in Rotherham.
GNWR are supposed to have 2 91s, 14 Mark 4 carriages and 2 Mark 4 DVTs by September 2019 (!) and TfW are supposed to have 12 Mark 4 carriages and 3 Mark 4 DVTs (but no 91s, as the 67s will be adapted) ready for December 2019 (I think) so there needs to be 2 91s, 26 Mark 4 carriages and 5 Mark 4 DVTs available before the new year / decade. 5 sets will be just enough for the DVTs and more than enough for the 91s and Mark 4 carriages.I would assume that at least some if not all vehicles from the first off-lease sets will be destined for Transport for Wales and GNWR (or what ever the open access operator for the Euston - Blackpool services are called).

Yeah that makes senseMy understanding is that the first three mark 4 sets are going off lease so rapidly, ahead of any HST sets, because vehicles from them are required for TfW's three sets to be in service before December.

Are GNWR planning to start passenger service in September? Or do they require the trains for crew training etc in advance of passenger service at a later date?GNWR are supposed to have 2 91s, 14 Mark 4 carriages and 2 Mark 4 DVTs by September 2019 (!)
Oh' I'm not suggesting using a 2+9 at all haha. I was just making the point that having travelled on the 2+4's, the timings are way too easy for the traction, a 5 car voyager on 3 engines could meet them. Do they plan to speed up the Taunton to Cardiff timetable once all the sets are available and in service - i guess from December timetable?2+9 is far from sprightly! 2+5 however will keep to voyager timings, so potentially 2+6 is feasible but word platform length be an issue?
The link in post #67 contains the information you need to knowPlease could someone confirm the formations of BN23 and BN24. Thanks
I really don't think Mk4's are the best type mark of carriage at all. The Mk3's are far more superior in many ways. And to use two different loco types to replace the GWR GTI HST's makes no sense at all. The timing load wouldn't make any difference as the 67's are slow at getting up to speed. Are GNWR planning to start passenger service in September? Or do they require the trains for crew training etc in advance of passenger service at a later date?
The same applies to TFW needing sets by December. Is that for service or crew training?
Class 67's with Mk4's in Wales will be popular with enthusiasts and the general public alike!! The Mk4's are probably the best passenger coach running around on the UK network. And the 67's with such a light load will go like the clappers with a nice soundtrack too on full acceleration.
As a side point, wouldn't Class 67's / 68's with 4 mk4's and a DVT have been a better option - cheaper to convert and run - for GWR rather than the 2+4 HST fleet???? And probably more than enough performance too. The current sprinter timings on Taunton to Cardiff are hardly taxing for the 2 plus 4's and could even be achieved by a 2+9 set. The same applies to Cornwall timings too. The 2 plus 4 HST's there barely need to get out of notch 3.
I wouldn’t call a link to a website that isn’t being updated and where the set formations are six months old as containing the information needed. The link in post #67 contains the information you need to know
Yes but most of the formations I've seen on there still correspond to the appropriate sets. There have been no major reformations I believeI wouldn’t call a link to a website that isn’t being updated and where the set formations are six months old as containing the information needed.

Yes I have noticed that particularly more on the class 90 diagrams. Mainly the DVT's swap as you say and the 122xx coaches next to the loco.Based on my experience sets more often run without a coach as opposed to coaches being shuffled between sets.
Mainly due to there only being 2 spare vehicles - DVT 82224 and TSOE 12200.
Hope this helps.
I’m well aware of what TfW are having.
The point is that Eversholt need three full sets back from LNER to provide the TfW vehicles: there’s only one TOE, TOD, SV and DVT per set and they are needed for the Welsh sets.
