I applied for NXG but nothing back so far. When i logged in to the arl career site to check the status i saw had a previous application i'd made back in 2016,

I'd never had a response on that one and forgot all about it ... so don't hold your breath!!

I started my 1st day today with ARL, and one of the senior trainers mentioned to us that on this most recent recruitement a few weeks back, they recieved just shy of 6000 applicants the 1st 45 minutes it went live, so if you havent heard back yet i would say, try and stick it to the back of your mind as it could be a while.......

Were there many other people at the assessment?
I had a class of 15 in my assessment, and there was another group who were coming out from the first session of around 20. First assessment covered the group bourdon, tea occ, dfft and sjt.

Oh that's good. Congratulations to you for getting through the next stage. Was you sent any revision booklets for this exam or did you use other practice materials?

Thank you so much. I used a few different things. I had the materials supplied by ARL, which is about 100 pages of various test papers, and as well as that I practiced extra GB paper tests and I created my own tone tests to practice the Tea-Occ with. Just kept trying different things until I worked out what way of doing the tasks worked best for me. It seems silly trying to work out how best to count something, but I tried every way till I worked out which method was best to guarantee I wouldn't forget or miscount anything.

Qualified Driver here, would anyone already based at NXG please PM me, I’m wanting to know certain bits and bobs would be very grateful for any help.

I want to know about T’s and C’s through to walking times, pn times a bit about the depot itself and maybe get some diagrams to have a look at.

Any help greatly appreciated, and I’ll help you out with swaps should I make it through lol

Sorry to hijack congrats to those who have passed and those who have been given assessment dates my partner has his first assessment 12th September other than the practice material can anyone recommend any other sites/that ways to practice? I didn't have to do enhanced test so it's all new to me.

Check the gb test on this forum, print them out and do them on paper. Beyond the test papers given, I made my own high and low tones audio tracks and then would shuffle them together. The rest I just did with the practice materials. They're really good.

Gotta do 1st assessment day, 2nd assessment day, final interview before job offer bud. Then gotta complete medical and references before actual start of job.

If that answers the question.

It is definitely worth contacting HR. An advert for qualified drivers at new cross gate recently closed. ARL are loosing a fair amount of drivers at the moment for various reasons..... so defo worth asking HR the question.
Hi,
May I ask why are they loosing many drivers? Is it because drivers are not happy for them?

So I initially received an unsuccessful email a few months back however today I’ve just been invited to an assessment centre next Thursday. I applied for New Cross Gate. I passed at Southeastern in May 2018 so could someone clarify what tests I’ll be required to take and is there anyone in the same position/recently attended ARL assessment centre?
