Doesn’t surprise me considering they probably want to save money like SWR and actually nothing has seem to have changed since 115 was first in service after the refurb. Has it had the full exterior work yet or no?

having a USB point at every seat is a bonus though compared to other TOCs refurbs
No, 115 was still grey. 104 was in the bay at Northampton grey but untouched inside and another grey one was on Kings Heath.
Yes the sockets are a bonus

To be honest I didnt notice but not saying they hadnt been done.
I've jumped ship now, left for a different TOC so unlikely to see one for a while and certainly wont find out any info internally anymore!

Good to see some common sense in the actual placement of the sockets being on the back of the seat pillar rather than hidden underneath.

401 at Bletchley painted.
Refurb one busy going ECS as drivers not trained on new CIS...

Oh for goodness’ sake!! How long has this refurb been in the pipeline?

Given that the CIS (old or new) is switched off half the time and the PRM regs haven't kicked in yet, why not, er, just switch it off and have the guard do manual announcements?

Well exactly. The mind boggles.

Lovely new refurbished interior at Crewe Wednesday evening on the 17:01 Crewe to London Euston service. Grey seats, usb and mains sockets. How many are like this?

The PIS system working has a lot more significance than just switching off the auto and being able to do a manual PA. It also determines how drivers and conductors react to passcoms and call for aid alarms.

Without proper briefs on how this new system works for staff, the train should not be in service.

Although it's certainly a PRM-TSI requirement, doesn't regulation 13 of RVAR 1998 require such a system to be in place anyway?

If so, it'd be hard to see a reasonable justification for isolating a system due to a lack of staff training. The operator should know better…

If you can’t do emergency announcements via a PA system, the train can’t run. It has to be taken out of service. That’s why it won’t be able to have pax on it assuming it’s interconnected to the PIS.

If the passcom and PA are inseparably connected to the PIS, given the typical reliability of on-train PIS that is an idiotic piece of design beyond belief. Safety critical systems should never be connected to complex IT systems - they should be simple and separate and provable in design.

Which given the TOC involved in it, would not surprise me one bit - I can think of only one decision I can recall them having made since inception (fewer 4-car trains) that wasn't idiotic.

Have they finalised the livery
106 did however its had the final livery removed according to a post earlier in the thread. As of now 115, 104 and 106 have the temporary livery while 123 still has the LM livery

That should hopefully change soon as the refurbishment program starts to pick up

350123 is white with green doors as per the other three. It has been through Long Marston at least once so far
