Im sure the purpose of a bardic lamp was to be able to show multi aspects. I got given one at work a few years ago but they seem to be issuing the torches with a clip on red aspect if you need it.
THey should no longer be issued due to the problems that colour blind people have identifying the...
Just to confirm that the CANT displayed will vary on red plates, as these are installed whilst the track is in place. However they should always show the design cant with Green blocks. The plate in the picture above has clearly been installed wrong because you can't have a designed can't at 1mm lol.
I used to get the train to Fareham from Victoria, but return to Waterloo.
Weird, as the train to Vic left on the Down road, whereas the train to Waterloo left on the Up!
Generaly the movement area of a point is very large, depending on the size of the switch. The forces arnt concentrated on a specific point on the rail. Ive never heard of a switch breaking due to it being swung. Usually if a switch is used that much the rail will be worn and the switch replaced...
Either slab track or longitudanal timbers.
Slab track is good becuase it requires very little maintenance, however the wheel-rail interaction on slab track is very harsh and rail and wheel wear can be accelerated.
Longitudanal timbers require more maintenance than normal track becuase of...
I was in my orange at Euston Station one night this week and a drunk guy came up to me (at 0030) and asked what platform the 2330 to Hemel Hempstead was leaving from.
I just said go and check the time boards...
Well all the platforms on the DC lines are low. It actually has created more of a problem than a solution as a compromise to NWR vs LUL stock as the LUL stock comes very close to some platforms, when compared to NWR stock.
I don't know what the solution will be but they need to start doing...
The gauge clearance on the DC lines is shocking.
There needs to be some substantial work done to enhance the gauge clearance if any future development is to happen. I guess this can be done with track relaying/lowering through Primrose Hill and all the stations.
I was working near Willesden TMD today, adjacent to Willesden Junct High level station, and there must have been about 20 people on an over bridge overlooking the Up/Down Fasts.
Is this a regular spotting location? Was anybody there?
Sounds amazing. I wonder what temperature they stress the rails to!
dealing with -40 to +40 Celsius temperatures must put an awe full lot of stress on the rails and rail support system!
I don't see why it would be the weld as apposed to the Adjustment Switch tip. The weld doesn't hold any stress nor does it prevent the stress transition from spreading. I would class the switch tips as being the start of the 180m stress transition.
ask at work, what do you do?
Contractor?
You must stress at least 180m into the existing CWR when you remove adjustment switches. This is becuase of the stress transition site that islocated at adjustment switches.
I take it you will be installing new rail i.e. Level 2 stressing?
You need to have your Pull Point (PP), then your...
