    Dutch Flyer Validity and Information

I’ve used Greater Anglia services from Peterborough on this ticket more than once, no problems. But they’re only every 2 hours and you can’t use other train company services (EM for example). I’ve also broken my journey at Ipswich for food, just asked the barrier staff, showed my printed Dutch...

    What made you happy today?

no, it’s a euphemism for a swear word, “flaming OS wants me to restart for more updates”, like “bloomin’ printer’s out of ink again”

EPB farewell - 30 year anniversary

Yes, they all had the single central buffer plus chain coupling (unlike the otherwise similar DEMU coaches which had a buckeye type). Useful photos of the inner ends if you scroll down a bit at https://www.bloodandcustard.com/sR-4epb.html

Any experiences of GNV ferries in Italy?

Well here I am in Naples, nice and early for the GNV ferry to Palermo. The emails don't help you find the check-in desk/ticket office/biglietteria, and nor do the signs at the port really. So asked a security guy who pointed me in the right direction. X marks the spot. Close to where my ship the...

EPB farewell - 30 year anniversary

As a regular passenger on them from the Medway Towns up to about 1986, I can confirm the deep cushions. The longer they had been in service, the greater the wear pattern on the vertical parts of the seats where people had rubbed the moquette away, as the bottom cushion took on the work of...

    What made you happy today?

Happy that a hotel allowed me to start breakfast 15 mins before official opening so I could easily make a train. Who says the Germans are sticklers for rules!

Question about Ebbsfleet International - Eurostar and Southeastern services

The Eurostars pass Ebbsfleet on the outer tracks, and don't go through the platform lines, so that's kind of ruled out. And the SE trains don't go fast enough to blow someone over if they're stopping. Presumably any non-stop SE trains would also use the outer tracks nowhere near a platform edge

    Direct Paris to Berlin train

The zugfinder.net site lets you see a month’s worth of delays, e.g. https://www.zugfinder.net/en/train-ICE_9590 and https://www.zugfinder.net/en/train-ICE_9591

    *International* Guess The Station

The loco looks very SNCF, but the units resemble Belgian ones, and the livery neither!

To add to Alemaster’s reply, it’s probably the single line section further along that‘s the capacity limiter around there.

    Derby RTC dead-load locomotives.

Here's Hymek 7076 at Humberstone Road, Leicester, where it was for a while in early Jan 1983, I think, en route to preservation. I got as close as I could from both sides. Wagon fans might notice the BSC Corby tube wagons in the 2nd pic!
