    Jumping Barrier Incident

The fact you didn't see what they were attending how can you possibly judge. A large percentage of police won't be blue light trained and will still be attending the same emergency calls. Plus if you are having to scuffle with someone to get them in the back of police car, disabled spaces make...

    Jumping Barrier Incident

Rest assured "foul mouthed aggressive yobs" receive the greatest priority from me and my colleagues.

    Jumping Barrier Incident

I know unpopular opinion but as a society we all need to challenge criminal behaviour. Gateline staff have the legal powers to use force. I appreciate exiting a station is harder to challenge/police but anyone entering a station should 100% be challenged and if you are unable to physically stop...

    GWR Salary vs Other TOCs?

With one TOC being 100% DOO work, surely the decision is a no brainer!

Train crew actions: Passengers refusing to pay/get off train.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I make full use of my byelaw powers of removal and detention. If all other tactics have failed, I will make a dynamic risk assessment for each situation. Like some have mentioned the surprise factor generally works well and I will never cause a delay for a...

Ryanair files civil case against disruptive passenger for €15,000 in damages. Could TOCs follow suit?

I would agree with duffield that it is not really recovering the money, rather the principle and publicity it generates.

Ryanair files civil case against disruptive passenger for €15,000 in damages. Could TOCs follow suit?

I expect you've all seen the news that Ryanair is to sue passenger to recover the damages. You may have also seen the recent news article about the financial struggles and likely cuts the British Transport Policing. Which brings me to my question: In theory is there anything to stop a TOCs...

Assaults on Emergency Workers Act should be expanded to all customer facing roles

I'm afraid it wouldn't make a scrap of differece. Police assault assailants often receive pitiful sentencing and that's if we are are lucky. The CPS will often state that police assaults aren't in the public interest.

    RMT report about Trainline

Splitsave: Not always stating only valid in trains stopping at the split stations. People always reply the Trainline says its an any permitted, open return not understanding the restrictions of split tickets. Splits that are mixed with advances Splits that mix day returns with open returns...

    Disruptive Passengers Procedure.

Or the difference between people that work in an office/WFH and people that work on the frontline. The latter facing the highest assault and antisocial behaviour for a generation.

    Disruptive Passengers Procedure.

"(ii) Any person who is reasonably believed by an authorised person to be in breach of any of these Byelaws and who fails to desist or leave when asked to do so by an authorised person may be removed from the railway by an authorised person using reasonable force." I appreciate some TOCs don't...

Cross Country Cancellations - Emergency Timetable

I'm just saying it's unfair to say it's a problem specific to XC. Out of the quoted other TOCs which one is inaccurate?

Cross Country Cancellations - Emergency Timetable

XC don't require two Train Managers. XC don't have lead hosts as all Retail Service Managers and First Class host are competent unless medically restricted. XC are just really short of all crew. XC lost all caterers that applied for voluntary redundancy.
