At Heaton Chapel I always see a packed 323 pull up for the 0807 to Piccadilly which is then squeezed to bursting with probably another trainload of commuters! Similarly with almost any Hazel Grove/Buxton service between 5-8pm made up of a 2-car DMU, it seems like at least 3/4 of the train...

Not sure it's diagrammed for a DMU because at times during the year it can go through a long period of 323 operation but then change to DMUs for months at a time with the odd 323. So this probably would suggest it's one of the first services to be subbed when there's a 323 shortage :(

I seem to recall there being some kind of unwritten 'rule' with the building of the viaduct that any train crossing it had to stop at Stockport but I may be wrong. I have seen an XC Voyager going through non-stop on a Piccadilly - Cardiff Central service at no more than 20mph.
