    BR Merrymakers

I have fond memories of Merrymakers which originated from the London end of the LM region. Tenby was the first excursion we travelled on and then being a teenager, the heavy industry of South Wales was an eye opener to be followed by the wondeful coast at Ferryside and the numerous mud inlets...

The State Of Rail Travel In Lincolnshire

Had it remained open what would the journey time from Cleethorpes and Grimsby be to London via Louth - Boson - Peterborough? Visited East Lincolnshire last week and I did wonder if the economy of the area would have benefitted had this link remained. The dock area at Grimsby was I though...

    Suggestions for Dawlish avoiding route(s)

Euston to London Bridge 48 minutes?

Over many years I have always allowed an average time of 2 mins per station. Excepting delays this has always proved to be fairly accurate. I always allow more time if an urgent appointment or it parramount not too miss a main line train, such as the last one home!

    Derailment at Farringdon

To answer the first question there are three sidings at Farringdon located just east of the station between the westbound circle line and the former widened lines. Only two sidings can not be accessed by stabling service trains the siding closest to the westbound Circle Line having been...

Just thought I would pitch in on this one. I have covered all LUL lines open since the 1960's incl Watford Jn & Ongar, Drayton Pk - Moorgate plus the old East London Line. I remember travelling on a Met Line fast Uxbridge which passed non stop through Harrow-on-the-Hill platform 1 and...
