    12-cars 450s

To be honest during the peak there are olof of 12 car 450 workings from Woking and thank god they are.

    Waterloo to Weymouth First Class?

I'd say it's only worth if you can get the advance fare. Having used 1st class on the route before it is definitely more comfortable with a noticeable amount of extra room. It wasn't noisy from people walking through as far as I can remember. I have been on a 450 1st class from Bournemouth...

Which TOC has the most stock?

Ah right, I never noticed that. Where i live it is mainly 450s which i have seen 4 car formations on, althought this could be down to a lot of stock being out of action at the mo.

Which TOC has the most stock?

SWT have a lot of stock. I would quote you figures off wikipedia but they are most probably inaccurate and i would get told off :) The spare stock at Clapham probably sits there during the day and is used at peak time, especially as on some routes SWT seem to run 4 car trains during the day...

East Croydon - Vauxhall route choices

If you are going on a weekday i would say the bit from Clapham Junction to Vauxhall will also be very crowded but it only takes 4/5 minutes.

Blue Class 73 with Virgin MK2's

The Virgin logo was painted over, albeit not very well, on the rear coach. Couldn't see the rest.

    Running late - don't stop

I think one issue which seems to be fairly common amongst this is communication. The passengers need to know why the TOC is doing this and what the benefit is, otherwise it seems the TOC is being underhanded and doing it for financial benefit. This is certianly the way i felt with the SWT...

Blue Class 73 with Virgin MK2's

I saw this at Woking today at about 1.30pm waiting on platform 1. The loco was 73142 'Broadlands'.

    Running late - don't stop

I had a scenario last year where I was getting the 11.59 from Woking to Walton-On-Thames, which it said was running 10 mins late. The service changed on the departure screens to not be stopping at Walton or Weybrige even though the station staff was sure it would as it was scheduled to. The...

Seen any famous people on trains recently?

Saw Alec Stewart on an Swt 455 going to Dorking from Vauxhall last year.

    Touch screen ticket machines

The SWT ones seem to be generally ok, however there is one at Woking which has a dodgy confirm button, it has been like it for ages. Not sure whether it is a question of calibration or the actual screen is defective.

    Have SWT dropped off-peak tickets?

Ok thanks, so it's southern being greedy, or encouraging patronage, rather than swt as I presumed. I'll be quiet now so the orignial topic can be discussed :) cheers for your help.

    Have SWT dropped off-peak tickets?

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up. This is off topic now I guess, bu it seems a very expensive fare. Do the southern and swt tickets co-exist because they couldn't or didn't want to, agree on sharing the revenue? It doesn't make it very easy for customers who don't know or aren't...

    Have SWT dropped off-peak tickets?

This is an interesting thread. I've just paid £9.70 for an Anytime Day Single from Dorking to Waterloo because an off peak single was not available, even though I am pretty sure the fare is available 'via southern only'. I wonder if the off peak single was previously available. It's a rip on...

    Trains with no toilets

I've often had to sit on a 455 from Boxhill & Westhumble to Waterloo with no WC, then queue up to exchange my permit to travel for a ticket whilst being treated as a fare evader, and then finally made it through to the 'facilities'!

    Disruption due to poor weather

Nearly full service from SWT then....i wonder what's going to go wrong tomorrow. With regards to SWT running a full service just for money, from what i saw today services wren't that busy and also would they not be risking higher maintenance costs by putting more rolling stock out there in...

    Disruption due to poor weather

Hello all, Been watching a while so thought i would finally register so i can post. I am in SWT land commuting from Woking to Waterloo and today certainly was an interesting day on SWT! I got to Woking this morning and got on the 9.10 am, this was a delayed service but i was just...
