Does anyone know why the Lincoln signaller apprenticeships aren’t going ahead anymore?

Does anyone know if there is an age limit to the signalling apprenticeships? It says you need to be at least 18. I assume the fact they have not mentioned an upper age limit means there isn’t one, however does anyone here know of any older students? Or are one?

Has anyone here applied for the grade 2 signalling opportunities in Immingham, Selby, Hull, Middlesbrough? Have you heard anything since doing the tests?

I guess them telling me was at least something. This was my third time of being a reserve, the other 2 had their statuses changed to unsuccessful without warning!

Yes I thought this might be the case. Gutting to say the least. I was on the reserve list from the North & East campaign however they said as it has been 6 months and they can’t see anything for at least the next 2 months, they’re closing the reserve list.

Does anybody internally know of any signalling roles likely to go external in the Lincolnshire/North Lincolnshire/East Yorkshire area soon? It would seem there haven’t been any for some time now.

I must say I’m a bit gutted to read about the East Midlands future opportunities. Especially when places like Lincoln and Market Rasen are included as these are about 30mins for me. Where did you hear of the roles? As far as I was aware, I was signed up for alerts so a little disappointed to...

this sounds exactly the same as my situation, to the tee with timings and replies. I’m also in Lincolnshire and I too am unsure whether I should be celebrating or looking at other positions!

I assume it is because there weren’t any positions in this area as I’m in the same boat. I was told they would be in touch at the end of the year

I’ve had this before and I would definitely check you’ve applied by trying to apply again and see if you can. Even after you submit your questionnaire there is a finish button as well which could easily be missed.

To me...and I’m not a signaller. The ability to clearly listen without distraction to instructions and retain information is detrimental to the job. While I have taken my notes with me and read them before the interview I wouldn’t dream of looking at them mid interview.

I used my phone as I had trouble getting it to work with my MacBook. This was with Wepow and not Microsoft teams.

Yeah I guess this is much the case. A combined issue of reduced staff, home working, getting back up to speed etc. Hopefully I won’t be in the dark much longer!

HR tell you it is being handled by an outside recruitment agency who they don’t have any contact details for unfortunately. I only have emails I can reply to which I’m not hearing back. I’ll just hang on a bit longer cheers

Ah that’s a real shame it’s a mobile number. I don’t seem to be getting a reply from the usual emails you get correspondence from. It’s a shame Network Rail’s own HR department don’t seem to know a great deal about these positions. Thanks anyway!
