Any possibility of a service from Southeastern to West Anglia via Stratford?

Theres a reason why it won't be popular, and it's ignored by BML2. It's not where people want to go. Gatwick for example is a major employer for Sussex and there is a lot of airport/airline staff who travel to/from Gatwick to the South Coast.

Any possibility of a service from Southeastern to West Anglia via Stratford?

There's a plan for the BML and it isn't BML2. As that fails to deal with the main issue, the overcrowding from stations between West Coastway/Preston Park and London.

London Bridge - Brighton: Thameslink or Southern?

By May 2018 timetable change, the Brighton to London Bridge service will be extended to Cambridge. All services will be 700s by this point. However the current weekday timetable is tied to Southern services so needs a big re-write that is part of next year. The weekends are a different...

Any possibility of a service from Southeastern to West Anglia via Stratford?

Tpd = train per day on weekdays. May change during engineering works.

Any possibility of a service from Southeastern to West Anglia via Stratford?

GTR/SE have proposed a limited Cambridge to Ashford (3tpd) Thameslink service from 2018.

London Bridge - Brighton: Thameslink or Southern?

The TOC is completely different to the PIS codes so no. Or do you suggest re-writting the PIS software using 20 year tech costing millions to do so. It's a temporary fix to run as many trains as possible.

London Bridge - Brighton: Thameslink or Southern?

The basic issue is the 377 is run on a computer consider not top of the line 20 years ago. Ripping them out and upgrading to a new computer (like the 387s have) would be very expensive. One TOC, four separate business. However I maintain what I stated is what I believe. No its not...

London Bridge - Brighton: Thameslink or Southern?

Actually that was the DfT who said it before franchise award. The idea was Thameslink had lower fares on the basis of using 319s where Southern had air conditioned 377s so there was rightly a price difference. However with the TLP upgrade and the DfT ordering trans for the franchise to...

London Bridge - Brighton: Thameslink or Southern?

Seems no-one has put in the answer that both Southern and Thameslink work the Brighton to London Bridge services and it has nothing to with GTR passing around as suggested as it's a historical thing. Brighton has had a 4tph service to London Bridge for a fairly long time now. With Thameslink...

Southern DOO: ASLEF members vote 79.1% for revised deal

Safe is a very flexible term. And no-one in the industry is saying DOO is prefectly safe. In fact they are saying its as safe as guard dispatch with differnet challenges not safer. The industry views dispatch of trains as one of the most dangerous things going as accidents are easy with some...

GTR to be stripped of franchise? DfT to take over according to RBI

Worth pointing out that the Thameslink services aren't the priority here but the Southern. Of those opinions I gave, two of them left GTR with Thameslink (and GN) and two had Southern removed from GTR. That's telling in itself.

GTR to be stripped of franchise? DfT to take over according to RBI

possibly splitting not 100%. However splitting now and causing departments that help run the service to be undermanned now would be difficult to replace what had been there before. Youd risk spending the next year getting things back to where they are now. The difference in 2021 would be a far...

GTR to be stripped of franchise? DfT to take over according to RBI

Don't forget Thameslink has been working with Southeastern for nearly 8 years on joint services. Also the cascades will need to have thier input so you'd have three TOCs working together on this like pre GTR. However with departments merging, not sure there is the staff to spilt and have...

Try Reading my post where I say I don't know. Railway press have stated they know but no names given out.

GTR to be stripped of franchise? DfT to take over according to RBI

The choices are * leave things as they are * transfer Southern (in part of full with possibly leaving the future TL routes with GTR) to a new 'TOC' under direct DfT control * transfer all of GTR to the new 'TOC' under direct DfT control The plans have gotten so far the press have the name of...

GTR to be stripped of franchise? DfT to take over according to RBI

Plan was to only use 12 car 700 to provide the most available capacity possible. Southern drivers did have an overtime ban but that's now ended while talks take place. Thameslink drivers have never had an overtime ban at the present point.
