As far as i am aware the 37's will NOT be returning to operate on the sleeper, and thats from a VERY reliable source. and anyway as far as i was aware the contract between FSR and EWS was for 3x67's not 2x67's and 1x37, therefore i really doubt they will end up working for fsr, may be wrong though

What proof do you have for this? So if I was to get a mate to look up 37405 on TOPS, it would say it's alloxed to 1Y11 and 37401 is in the paintshop?

I reckon first will swap the 57/6s on the rivera sleepers for 67s on the caledonian sleepers

;);) Now you are on the right track. IF 405 is allox to the 1Y11 and if FSR get wind of this then eh well someone will be getting told off! they cancelled the train before because it was a 37 and not a 67.

Errr unless FSR are hitting a new low in train travel no it won't be going anywhere near Y11. 405 has a No Heat (NH) restriction and it's unlikely it will be repaired. I'm told no long term plans for this one...

OK, get over it. 37s will be back.

Who exactly are you?
You are new on the forum, and start posting what, when looking at the facts, appears to be drivel, yet you still make very bold statements such as "37s will be back" (by next week!!! :D) I'd love to be on the beds from Fort Bill with no ETH at all--- just like the good ole' NB days :D. Anyway, if you had some tangible evidence to back up you bold comments, then perhaps they would be more believeable, however atm, they simply do not add up. I really hope you prove my pessimistic view wrong here.
James.

Fake gen + wishful (gulliable) thinking equals a lot of disappointment. Toton Paintshop has its own TRUST entry, so if 37401 was there then it would say so...

So then...

Anyone care to update me on whether this happened...

Mr Lewis?

No, thought not.

Mainly because me and 86242 and few select others have "good gen" sources. It is true, as I did not know 401 was being outshopped in Barbie, but since it's on toton paintshop (the same place the scotrail 90s were done) I belive it. Been told 405 is to have her ETH problems sorted for standby duties on the beds, while 401 will be the main stay. Should be hellfire as the drivers are getting a refresher course soon :)
FSR are very unproud now, after the bosses hit their heads off a door, they realised the 67s were causing their passenger numbers to drop slightly. First are in it for profit you must remember! Plus why do you want to go to Ft Bill? Uber dooper skip haul?

Yes but 401 came out of toton paint yard when being used for Buffer Puffer 4.1... Still in its Royal Scotsman livery.

"67s are causing the passenger numbers to drop"

"FSR are in it for profit"

FSR management couldn't care less about the number of cranks on board. The FTW sleepers certainly don't make a profit and are only retained due to the political pressure and outcry that would come if it were cut.

"Plus why do you want to go to Ft Bill? Uber dooper skip haul?"

The WHL sleepers are in effect a commuter service the further North you get. In high summer, it is also very popular with tourists, people on a walking holiday, cyclists etc...

Edit: Oh and another thing, EWS 37s and company specific liveries don't mix. Even when ATW offered to pay for a repaint into turquoise, EWS turned the request down. Same reasons for the 67 staying red and gold. All to do with corporate image. The only reason the 90s are getting a paintjob is because they have very little work to do elsewhere.

Think of this fairytale as being a bit like the 'first cuckoo of spring' letters that you used to get people sending to the Times!

"Dear Sir,

Today I heard the first rumour of the season that 37's are to reappear on the WHL......

Hi Dennis,

Indeed they would be failing thair share holders if they wasn't in it for proffit. However, in this instance the service is run at a loss because the political ramifications of the withdrawall of the service could cost the ruling party their majority in the Scottish Parliament.

Karl :)
