Shame they can't do a divert via Peak Forest.
Wouldn't be a lot of help for passengers from Whaley Bridge or Disley
There's a 156 trapped at Buxton (along with probably one or two others), so I very much doubt that Single Line Working could be used as far as New Mills Newtown and then work back to Buxton.
Sorry, don't follow your train of thought
Surely, having the units means that a shuttle could be introduced?
Are there any refuelling facilities on that section? Otherwise it could be a short term service.

Shows that the trains to Tunstead are still running
What, a RRB over the Cat and Fiddle a better journey? Are you serious?Surprised they haven't also put road transport from Buxton - Macclesfield as well. That would at least give passengers for Stockport and Manchester a slightly better journey.

can we? that WILL be fun coming down round those bends in a big double decker. It will like the Italian job
No reason why not - in fact didn't Virgin use to run a link bus from Buxton - Macclesfield providing through tickets to London? Saved travelling via Manchester to get to London. I assume that used the Cat & Fiddle - and it's not the middle of winter....
There is an hourly bus between Macclesfield and Buxton. Why does it have to be a double-decker anyway?

When I arrived at Hazel Grove this morning I found the 06:44 TPE, which usually passes straight through, made, what appears from RTT, to be a scheduled stop. This is repeated for the next two xx:44 services as well.

Nice to see a bit of collaboration between Northern and TPE to help try and lessen the impact, particularly given a large number of folk will probably bail on the RRB at Hazel Grove instead of continuing to Stockport.
