Looks like there is a 90 swap this afternoon with 90049 heading south (Hauling a dead 92028) to be exchanged for either 90042 or 90047.

EDIT: Two green liveried 90's have just gone into Euston so suspect 90047 is the one heading north.

Pretty sure the replacement 90 (hauling 92028) was 90016 (not 049). Or at least 90016 was one of the 2x 90s going into Euston (with 90042 I think).
049 showing as being in Daventry this evening on the ever-reliable <cough> TOPS too.

90016 is in the "old" Freightliner livery, whereas 049 is in the more modern "Powerhaul" livery.

016 lined up for 1S25 Down Highlander / 042 for 1S26 Down Lowlander (and 5S95 Highlander ECS before that).

Not sure - could be both!

Think those return runs to MK Central (or Rugby) and back are usually either a test run or driver training/route learning etc.

Would be a bit odd for it to be a run-out (light engine) ahead of the Class 50 tour given it's been working a Load 16 (+ sometimes dead 90/92 on the rear) in and out of Euston for the best part of the last 3 weeks without seemingly any bother.

Ah the perils of looking at a TOPS list from this morning when 049 was shown as the only available Skoda at Crewe this morning and 016 on its way to Daventry. ;)

Aye, I saw that and it confused me for a bit... TOPS seems to be getting worse.

90042 isn't far off an exam, so there might need to be another swap in a couple of days.

87002 99% working 1S26.

I wouldn't bet on that......

90042 (the 5S95 and planned 1S26 loco) did run out of Euston towards Willesden/Wembley after 1S25 had left rather than stay behind in Euston for 1S26 as normal, so something is afoot. Didn't see what happened after that though.

87002 was due on 5S96 and probably the only other real option if the 90 is a no-go for some reason.

90042 had an issue, was going to be replaced by 87002, but 90042 has been miraculously fixed and back on 1S26. (Gen from elsewhere from a very reliable source.)

Seen on twitter than the Southbound ex Fort Bill has had to return to Fort Bill due to poor rail conditions...

Looks like the last Scotrail service to Mallaig has been losing time, though that wasn't too dramatic at all in the Fort William area.

Apparently there are some passengers stranded at Rannoch - not good!

At least Rannoch has (public) road access, could be worse could have been Corrour;)

Sunday night Euston-Fort William is now cancelled due to disruption last night. The southbound service was already caped due to planned engineering works.

Randomly, on the 1637 ex-St Pancras this afternoon was an elderly couple travelling back to Deal. I overheard the lady say that they were on that service and had to get a bus to Glasgow, then a Virgin train from there to London.

I recall standing on the non-illuminated, freezing, snow-dusted platform, at Corrour awaiting the sleeper to Euston a few years back. My friend asked, given that Corrour was a request stop, what happens if the train sailed through. I pointed out that we were booked onto the train, so they would be expecting to pick us up - which they did. Alternatively, our best bet was to walk back to the hostel on the west shore of Loch Ossian. I dare say we'd have popped into the restaurant at the old station building for another venison steak along the way of course.

Triple Grey 92044 back on the Sleeper covering for loco(s) on exam - should work 1S25 Down Highlander tonight.

92018 lined up for 1S26 Down Lowlander once done the Highlander ECS (5S95). 87002 on Lowlander ECS (5S96).

92010 or 92014 on the Up Highlander (1M16) from Waverley - the other working the 1C11/1B26 Edinburgh Lowlander portion, 92033 or 90016 on the southbound Lowlander (1M11) - the other being the Glasgow/Polmadie ECS loco.

87002 was involved in the early evening light engine movements tonight at Euston having been tagged onto the back of 92018/92044 into Euston on 0A92, then powering a dead 92018 back out from Euston to Wembley.
