Thanks! I spent ages looking for that yesterday without success. I did find an image suggesting that the metal work was original to the bridge: https://capturingcambridge.org/queen-ediths/long-road/railway-gate-house/I looked at this a while back and visited the site to see. It looked to me as if it would be feasible and maybe was originally built with that in mind.
