Carnet ticket rejected

I have just pulled out the Conditions of Use that come with Carnet tickets and they just say they have to be validated without saying how. Separately on the ticket it says Enter date on use but nothing to say where, so leaving it to the passenger to infer it might be meant to be in the boxes. So pretty clear that there is no specfic instruction that says only valid if the date is entered in the boxes.

I don't think you would get very far with that argument - there's an instruction to enter the date on use right next to boxes for day, month and year.
