I have seen a report, albeit not from a reliable source, of changes to the 130 Arriva service in January 2020. I would be interested for any confirmation or otherwise from other contributors to this thread.
I hardly ever use the bus I will admit. My partner used to commute to work on the 130 Wilmslow-Didsbury but learned to drive and got one extra hour at home each day as a result, he would often wait for 30-45 minutes for a bus home from Didsbury in the evenings.
Since then the service had become hourly and only runs to Didsbury, eliminating one of the reasons I used to use it, for example to get to the Manchester Royal Infirmary conveniently.
Last time I used it on a weekday morning to get to Cheadle it provided a service to two people from Wilmslow, picked up a couple on Colshaw Farm estate to Handforth, then a chap in a wheelchair in Handforth. I walked back home from Cheadle which was tiring but enjoyable. The bus was small and modern. I can't see how it could be even vaguely profitable given that it's not subsidised.
I remember the Crosville E29 and E30 so it will be sad to see it go, but it would not surprise me if it did.
