Does anyone know if the following locos have been scrapped :-

D8104 (20104/20315)
D8131 (20131/20306)
D8194 (20194/20313)

Last I heard they were withdrawn and at Booth's Rotherham but were being stored, but that was a while ago

Dunno if this helps but it tends to say all were scrapped.

Actually only 28 left apparently.

Yes you're quite correct I just checked the website you supplied, I have seen this site before but not looked at it in detail, I will from now on. Thanks

P.S In my personal information I have 53 still in existence now, 24 active on the mainline, 20 preserved (in various states) and 9 still in store, I will check that site for further info. Do you know of any sites dedicated to Class 20's ?

Well I did know some good ones but they seem to have closed. If I find the one I am thinking of I will let you know. Not really dedicted to class 20's but more of the operational state of locos.

Found this on same site.

Always had a soft spot for them with the long nose and whistling.Remember seeing them when I used to visit Derby regularly in the late 70's.

Booths dont store locos, they are a scrap yard.
The only things they will 'store' is if somebody has put a deposit on to buy later, but even then they wont hold it for long because they havent got the room.

I know that they are a scrap yard but I believe that they sometimes keep locos intact for a while to see if they can get more for them selling them as a whole, rather than cutting them up asap.

I think some sources state such as "stored" because it is easier/shorter than "awaiting cutting up", I believe that's why I had them as stored.

Thanks for the info and I like them too, although not my favourites, but reliable and versatile locos which I am very glad so many have been preserved and some still in service.
