There are only six. Withdrawal date unknown, but it sounds like the extra coaches to extend one of the 7-car 345s have arrived at Old Oak Common. Through running on 6 November is a possible end point - eg Friday 4 November is the last day of the current timetable.
Thanks for that. Do you by any chance know the recent set that has been scrapped?

The Gidea Park - Liverpool St High Level peak workings from 7th November are now shown in RTT as moving to Aldersbrook for stabling between the peaks. This applies to at least the first four weeks of the timetable change, in a clear indication the 315s are staying beyond the timetable change. Interestingly this applies to both workings, so there should be two 315 sets out per weekday from 7th November, albeit only on two passenger services each.

I heard about this, great to hear. Am I correct in thinking that Aldersbrook sidings are not suitable for 345s? Is that how these workings are 315s?

That's right. Aldersbrook sidings are too short to accommodate a full-length 345.

Six 315s left since the last scrap move in April.

The aforementioned Aldersbrook moves are now showing as booked until at least Friday 9th December which would take the class over 42 years in service.

That is an impressive service life by any count!

838 & 853 doing the business this afternoon, looking cleaner and better cared for than many more modern trains around the country. A credit to those that look after this rolling stock. Good for another 40 years!!

Slightly of topic and please pardon my cheek for asking, but can anyone identify what unit partnered 315 830 on August the 8th 2019 ? My notes have it as 315 850 but that was scrapped 12 months previously and I'd really like to know which one it was. I know it wasn't 858 as that was on the Romford Upminster shuttle. Many thanks in advance.

These links aren't showing up in RTT now have they been amended?

7 November is a strike day. I just tried 16 November as an example and the Aldersbrook paths are there.

837 and 857 doing the honours on the last night of booked working to Shenfield, special event excepted. Class 315 life hanging by a thread now! Appreciated by a small group of enthusiasts and photographers.

837 and 857 were out tonight. No more 315 workings expected after tonight? Sorry I haven't been following this thread closely enough, apologies if this was covered...

I managed to do the last many passenger revenue services to and from Shenfield to Liverpool Street last night. I could not do the last going towards Shenfield because there were no trains back into London but I did the last from Shenfield. Certainly, an end of an era for them as they are now confined to 4 services a day to and from Gidea Park.

Hope you had a nice journey. I never liked the 315s very much originally, mainly because they always turned up in lieu of a more comfortable 317, or because it was a boiling hot day and I wanted an Aventra's air conditioning, but I warmed to them in the last two or three years. :)

What changes in the new TT. Are there still a couple of Gidea Park starters from December? Operated by 345s I assume?
No changes, the Dec TT on Crossrail effectively started a few weeks early. So there are still the Gidea Peak extras, two diagrams.

For those still requiring a 315 fix though both the 17.35 and 18.04 Liverpool St to Gidea Park were 315s tonight, but that should only last as long as it takes to commission the final 3 x 7 car 345s into to 9 car units.
