858 is also out today... done nothing apart from stick a sticker over the top of the TFL rail sticker
I don’t believe so as none of the 710s have actually got out of testing.Any news about the next units for the axe-man?
This might have been about two weeks ago when it spent a few days at Ilford Depot presumably getting this treatment, I reckon.Well ill be dammed...LO actually got 858 repaired and can finally run non multiple...didnt see that coming!
Been about 15 years now since the First Great Eastern / WAGN divide in the fleet. IIRC the old west Anglia sets were 848 to 861 with nearly all of them in different WAGN/advertising liveries. When ONE came in and mixed the fleets I was hoping to catch an FGE liveried set on west Anglia but I can't remember if this ever happened before they were all given the refreshers sweet packet treatment

Funny you mention that as I seem guaranteed to attract that unit like a magnet. Catch it too many times a week by sheer luck. If you are looking for it, quite distinctive as it doesn't have the yellow warning stripes on the doors.Glad to see 842 is still in service, this unit's eluded me for 30 years, will have a jaunt to London and have another go.

* 804 is being repaired following an accident.
I could easily vouch for that. Its a shame they are going cause their acceleration is better than a lot of the 31x units
What accident?
Isnt the 804 1 of 4 with better headlights than others? Why is it they have different headlights?

Your lot don't seem as great though compared to the GE ones, who work in pairs and tend to get easier off peaks. I think it is probably down to more extensive use and never enough time to be loved properly in between duties. They do get worked harder and that should be respected.804, 806, 809, 812 were the first few units to receive the full C6 overhaul. Originally the plan was for all of the units to look this way. As with most things rail related it was decided that the rest of the fleet wouldnt receive the "full fat" version due to money constraints. They are identical other than true day/night mode/hazard headlights with proving lights, Vigilance, and an electronic wiper with an intermittent setting. Great at clearing bugs in summer! Acceleration has slowly died over the years sadly. They used to fly.

I honestly forgot why they have different headlights but I remember it being explained further upthread.
